The launch of the 4IR Centres of Excellence is a result of a strong partnership between selected Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and the Department of Higher Education and Training and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges.

Delivering his closing remarks during the engagement between Government and Western Cape Inter-Faith Leaders, Cape Sun Hotel, in Cape Town, the Deputy President said Religious Leaders must ensure that there is order in the communities where they live. He added that the dialogue with inter-faith religions seeks to promote social cohesion among others.

The minister of electricity yesterday 06 May 2024, released a detailed update on the implementation of the Energy Action Plan (EAP), which shows that significant progress has been achieved over the past months in implementing the government’s plan to end load shedding.
The EAP was announced by President Ramaphosa in July 2022 and coordinated by the National Energy Crisis Committee (NECOM) under the leadership of the Minister in the Presidency for Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) welcomes a forfeiture order by the High Court of South Africa: Gauteng Division, Pretoria, to the SIU and Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) linked to the fraudulent transfer of government land to private entities and individuals. The forfeiture order is for the following: Farm 33 Zuurfontein, in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province was meant for the development of low-income housing and a school in the community.

President Cyril Ramaphosa officially opened a new, purpose-built Department of Home Affairs office in Mokopane, Limpopo, and also unveiled 100 new mobile offices and walk-in kiosks. President joined by Minister of Home Affairs, Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, and Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha officially opened the new Mokopane Home Affairs Office by unveiling a Plaque and a holding ribbon cutting ceremony.  The 100 new Home Affairs mobile offices will extend the reach of the Department’s services, especially in remote areas. The President and other dignitaries conducted and inspected some of these mobile offices. Finally, the Department also officially unveiled walk-in kiosks that will enable beneficiaries to apply for replacement copies of birth, marriage, or death certificates.

Minister Thembi Nkadimeng, says the District Development Model (DDM) izimbizo are critical for ensuring that government serves the people and that no one is left behind. She was speaking at the DDM Imbizo held at the Batlharos Sports Ground in Kuruman in the Northern Cape. The imbizo is the 13th that has been held by the sixth administration lead by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Imbizo, which has been held in all provinces, allows members of communities to interact with leaders from national, provincial and local government on service delivery challenges that communities are facing. Minister Cele added that, police will be deployed all over country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is saddened by the passing of retired Constitutional Court Justice and Esteemed Member of the Order of the Baobab, Yvonne Mokgoro. Justice Mokgoro passed away on Thursday, 9 May 2024, at the age of 73, following an extended period of illness arising from a vehicle accident. On behalf of Government, President Ramaphosa offered his deep condolences to Prof Job Mokgoro and the late Justice’s immediate and extended family, as well as her many associates in the legal fraternity in South Africa and abroad. President Ramaphosa said that Justice Mokgoro’s passing deprives our nation of a formidable intellect and impeccable jurist who served our democracy at its very inception and through the years that followed.
