This instrumental is inspired to the sound of the eighties. I kept the electric bass quite high in the mix, adding some chorus effect over 200Hz to enhance the sound of the string.
I used several tracks of Strat to create the main texture of the composition, using arpeggios and strummed parts through chorus and delay.
The drums are programmed and based on the Downbeat Kit available for AKAI MPC here: https://www.mpc-samples.com/product.php/291/the-downbeat-kit/. 
The drum samples are organized in round robin groups to give a natural feel to the drums part.

"Elégie pour une Cité des Merveilles" est un chant de deuil et d'espoir pour Paris, ville éternelle réduite en cendres. Le protagoniste, tel un fantôme, erre dans les rues désolées, hanté par les souvenirs d'un passé révolu. Chaque ruine est un témoignage de la grandeur passée, chaque fragment un trésor à chérir. Mais dans ce requiem pour une cité perdue, résonne aussi une promesse de renaissance. Car tant que vivra la mémoire de Paris, elle ne sera jamais vraiment anéantie.

"Elegy for a City of Wonders" is a song of mourning and hope for Paris, the eternal city reduced to ashes. The protagonist, like a ghost, wanders the desolate streets, haunted by memories of a bygone era. Each ruin is a testament to past greatness, each fragment a treasure to cherish. But in this requiem for a lost city, there also resonates a promise of rebirth. For as long as the memory of Paris lives on, it will never truly be destroyed.

Right By Me

Cybophonia is the brainchild of Eros Minichiello, a musician and producer based in Locarno, Switzerland. In addition to creating music for films, TV, and radio, he has released records for the iconic label Irma Records, including the self-titled album "Cybophonia" in 2000, alongside a pair of 12" EPs and several singles and remixes. One of these, the remix of Black Mighty Orchestra's "Ocean Beach," became a chillout anthem. 
In 2007, Cybophonia released the "Slide In" EP, followed by the album "Spinning" in 2014—two eclectic collections that blend downtempo, nu-jazz, nu-disco, house, lounge, and pop.
After a hiatus, Cybophonia made a return in 2021 with several singles, culminating in the album "Bloom." This marked a shift toward a more organic approach to songwriting, incorporating Eros’s own vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, and scaling back on digital production to reconnect with his indie guitar pop roots. 
Now in 2024, Cybophonia is back with the album "Nothing More," released on September 13. This latest work builds on the dream-pop sound introduced in "Bloom," adding a folk-rock twist while reintroducing the electronic elements that characterized Cybophonia’s earlier productions, creating a fresh blend of organic and digital textures.
