Inner winter spreads its hands within me, whispering of way of sorrow,
and covers everything with ice and snow
all is withering, dying, freezing, without vision of tomorrow,
and what once was life friendly, is now gone.

This funeral mind put all the good down
lay it in the coffin and buries it deep in the ground.
Sentenced to the eternal solitude, winter is thy path and doom.
Path of no sunlight, this way of pain and gloom.

After years of playing the piano, I was on a family bushwalk with a nature guide. When we had tea around the fire, he pulled out his acoustic guitar & we sang songs. That was the final push to get me to learn the six stringed instrument as well, because it was so portable & could be used anywhere with a minimum of fuss. That was a quite a few years ago now, but it has given me another medium to compose on. This tune "Natur" is born out of the noodling I do out on the verandah of my house, then I added all the strings & Rhodes electric piano afterwards, to ramp up the emotion.
