Sleater-Kinney first emerged from Olympia, WA in 1994. The group’s 1997 landmark album, Dig Me Out, earned a spot on Rolling Stone’s “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” During 2015, they returned from a decade-long hiatus with the triumphant No Cities To Love, which closed out 2015 on dozens of year-end lists, reaching #1 for The Daily Beast and The Skinny. In 2019, they teamed up with St. Vincent to produce The Center Won’t Hold followed by a North American and European tour with multiple sold-out dates. Path of Wellness, their tenth studio and first self-produced album was released last year before embarking on a summer co-headlining tour with Wilco that included iconic venues such as Red Rocks, Merriweather Post Pavilion, and more. To commemorate 25 years of their iconic record, Dig Me Out, the band gathered artists across genres to reimagine the 13 original tracks. Artists include Courtney Barnett, St. Vincent, Wilco, The Linda Lindas, NNAMDÏ, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, and more. Their most recent record to date, Dig Me In: A Dig Me Out Covers Album was released on October 21, 2022.

At the end of 2015, New Orleans drumming authority Stanton Moore was preparing to record a new album with his longtime musical partners David Torkanowsky and James singleton. Weeks before the trio was set to record, they received the unfortunate news that Allen Touissant had suddenly passed away while on tour in Spain. “I instantly felt a need to pay tribute to his indelible musical legacy-“ said Moore, realizing that an entire group of artists had just lost the soundtrack to their beloved home of New Orleans. 

Moore wasn’t exactly sure how the collection of songs would turn out once they had started recording at Parlor Studios- fortunately one of the great things about working in New Orleans is the vast pool of talented musicians to pull from. Moore first recruited special guests NIcholas Payton, Donald Harrison Jr. and Trombone Shorty to play together. Once the foundation for the songs was set, vocalists Cyril Neville, Kiki Phillips and Erica Falls were called upon to deliver a voice to the album. As everything developed he added Eric “Benny” Bloom, Skerik, Mark Mullins, Aaron Fletcher on horns and Mike Dillon on percussion as well. The end result is a special record that pays tribute to a musical legend in Allen Toussaint- one that Stanton Moore is ready to share with the world.

Angie & Taleen’s friendship blossomed as they sent each other mixtapes between L.A. and Chicago. When Taleen moved back home in 2011 the two started jamming, blending her love of goth/shoegaze and Angie’s pop-riot sensibilities to create TÜLIPS: dreamy, punky noise pop with a riot grrrl bent. Soon after, they found a drummer and began to play local DIY and zine shows, with Taleen and Angie trading off on guitar and bass. After recording their LP, Doom & Bloom, which was mixed by Brad Laner of ’90s U.S. shoegazers Medicine, the girls quickly realized that they wanted to bring the same full guitar sound to their live show. They added a full-time bassist to the lineup, with the girls at the front both playing their guitars.

Multi-platinum record selling musician and record producer, Glenn Morrison is the archetype of the modern DJ/producer star. The 37-year-old Toronto native is as happy rocking an underground house party as he is performing at an exclusive oceanic rooftop venue; as adept at composing an international club anthem like ‘Contact’ as he is at concocting a pop dance record that strikes to the Billboard Charts in America.  His single ‘Goodbye’ has been Certified Double Platinum and went Number 1 for 11 weeks in a row on the Canadian Billboard Chart, as well as going Number 1 in Russia’s Billboard Chart. Morrison is a difficult DJ to pigeonhole and that’s what makes him such a fascinating talent. One minute his sound is ruthlessly minimal and funky; the next it’s washed in color and vocals and emotion.

Glenn has had an unusual career path. He started off as a classical pianist, a preteen prodigy, performing  – and winning – competitions. Then came a life-changing encounter with electronic music.

Production continues apace in the new mastering studio Morrison has built in Toronto, entitled Alpine Mastering (www.alpinemastering.com). Be it sound design for video game companies like Nintendo, EA Sports, Activision or Rockstar, or his own productions, he simply doesn’t stop making and playing music.  His latest partnership with IMAX has been a thrilling experience, pushing the boundaries of electronic music to that of sound-scoring live theatre visuals.  Glenn & IMAX unveiled this concept with a 3 part show series at the 2012 ComicCon event held at the Ruben H Fleet Science Centre in San Diego, and it was a huge success. “It’s been a liberating transition for me to make music for all different stylistic purposes, and I’m very grateful for having the ability to do what I love for a living” says Glenn.
