A collaboration with Torbjørn Vagle and Jimmy Rivas.

I sent a demo of the song with the basic chord sequence to Torbjørn  and Jimmy in the hope they would consider joining me for another collaboration, Torbjørn to add his exceptional keyboards, Jimmy to write lyrics and provide his powerful and distinctive vocal, luckily for me they both agreed.

Torbjørn  and Jimmy’s contributions have lifted the song to a level way beyond my original demo, thanks very much for your outstanding work guys.

Triumph over adversity is the theme here, I think we can all relate.

The GRAMMY-winning engineer for Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, Tchad Blake said: "Strange Part of the Country is an awesome album! I still listen to it."

Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green liked Conil's music so much he stopped by Conil’s house to record with him. They recorded a version of Conil's homage to the jazz greats "Round Midnight". 

Strange Part of the Country never conformed to any current trends and has remained timeless. Now, people are discovering this album and it is becoming an all-time favourite. 

When the album was released in the UK, it received some amazing press. Britain's biggest selling music monthly Q magazine gave it: "Four stars - Q Recommends". Blues Matters magazine wrote: "One of the most original artists out there". In the next issue, Blues Matters put him on the front cover.

Conil left London after Strange Part of the Country was released and has spent the last ten years living in the United States and Europe - including New Orleans, New York City, and Berlin.

I am a finger-style guitarist living on the Texas high plains.  At the core of my music is melody that is inspired and informed by my Christian faith, family, friends, and countless influences through the years from the great composers, to jazz, folk, rock, Latin, Celtic, and the many fine musicians I have come to love on the Cloud, some I have been privileged to collaborate with. I started playing gigs in 1968,  I believe I was in the eight grade. It was only junior high school dances but at the time, it was electrifying. In 1964, I remember watching "The Ed Sullivan Show" and seeing the Beatles perform live and they pretty much jump started my interest in music, Long hair, guitars and Beatle boots, very cool, still cool. I have always enjoyed good harmony parts and George's slide work has always inspired me. Over the years like so many others, I’ve played concerts, night clubs, special events, coffee houses, bars and such. Also toured the U.S. in 76. Now it's all about writing, recording, having some fun and being a part of the Sound Cloud community. Yeah man! 
Debut Album called “ Seafoam” released 2018 at Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.


Some of my fav producers would be Gary Katz, Jeff Lynne, Sir George Martin, Eddie Kramer and Mark Hudson. As far as guitar players, great hooks from Keith Richards, best tone Eric Clapton, best feel SRV! Best slide guitar George Harrison, Sonny Landreth, Derek Trucks and Ry Cooder. Most creative exploration Eric Johnson. The most original and always inspiring the GOAT Mr. Jeff Beck, he is amazing. Walter Becker had the cool factor and the Mu chords as well as wrote such interesting lyrics.

Well I started playing when I was about 10 years old. Had a few friends that started about then also I remember in shop class  agood friend and I had drawn a Fret Board on our T-Sqare and would share things we had learned  the good old days. Around 16 years old i knew what i really wanted to do . After spending a few years in the USAF. We got out about the same time and put a band together, got a Agent and started playing. That went on for about 12 years then moved back to Ohio put a new band together and played another 10 years. then I ran into a old friend from school Greg Hurley while we were both playing out at the time we started Recording few originals. to make a long story short we recorded over 20 some years. He's been tryin to get me on here for some time. So here i am , I really have to  say there are a lot of really great Musicians on here. Just have found a new home.
