Lâche ou Héros TRANSLATED

The Crystal Caves is a symbol of submission, revelation, and the enigmatic boundary between knowledge and madness. It depicts vast, gleaming caverns deep beneath the earth’s crust, where immense quartz crystals grow like frozen lightning. These radiant formations are not merely geological wonders — they are conduits of consciousness, forming the neural lattice of an ancient, mythological intelligence.

In the lore of this card, humanity’s collective fears and desires are imprinted upon the crystals, forming an unfathomable archive of thoughts and memories. Faced with an existential crisis — be it environmental collapse, war, or spiritual disillusionment — a select few are chosen to hear the ringing. This sound, like a chorus of distant bells reverberating inside their minds, is a calling from the depths. Those who submit to the summons venture into the Crystal Caves, seeking understanding. Others resist, unwilling to face the knowledge that awaits — and in doing so, are consumed by the madness of dissonance.

This card challenges us to confront our inner callings. It asks whether we are willing to descend into the recesses of our own minds, face the uncomfortable truths that lie within, and emerge transformed. Alternatively, it warns of the destructive consequences of rejecting growth when the time has come to evolve.

ABANDONED

I love early mornings when the house is still and quiet.  It's the perfect time for a little introspection.  Such was the case this morning, so I sat down at the piano and did some improvising.  Hope everyone listening has a wonderful and peaceful day, with a little quiet time in the mix.

A Quiet Moment

What is your enduring dream? That treasured goal that requires a deep well of resilience and the courage to try something over and over again? The path to reaching an enduring dream is generally not straightforward; instead, it meanders, taking us to unknown and unexpected places while providing countless "life lessons" as we navigate a long, winding road. It's comforting to know that every stumble and each "recalibration" along the way brings us closer to our dreams, strengthening our resolve and making the eventual success more meaningful.

“An Enduring Dream” contains two recurring themes: the first represents the process of pursuing a dream repeatedly, while the second symbolizes the “recalibration” and courage to keep moving forward. The music concludes with a sense of continued movement, further along the path and closer to the dream.

This time I felt like I needed a bit of Latin Jazz inspired flamenco. And being sentimental as I am I had to think of this magical place I visited, designed into the landscape of volcanoes by César Manrique, a great artist and architect, called Jameos del Agua on Lanzarote island. The Jameos del Agua was the Centre of Art, Culture and Tourism and reflects one of the cornerstones of his creative work: harmony between nature and artistic creation. Although now a touristic attraction it once served as a pool complex and a club, undoubtedly one of coolest in the world! 

So a dance tune it is!
This track is played on one guitar with some exiting Latin rhythms and an upright bass for accompaniment. I used my flamenco guitar by Marín again instead of my Paulino Bernabé, the same I play on my Tarantas from a few weeks back.

Featuring super-trumpeter Chuck Weirich and the Aleck Rand Group,  This original tune may sound like a waltz, but it is actually in 5/4 time.  Chuck is a trumpet melodist with a pure sound, playing accessible, beautifully shaped ideas and harmonies.   I composed it, nevertheless he makes it his own.

Irie my friends , 
in the early 90's  I played with different Reggae Bands . 
At one of many shows a Lady ( which became my biggest fan ) gave me some lyrics telling me , she saw a few shows and were inspired to write down a few words - could be maybe used for a song .
She always like to stay anonimous and I promise her to do so . 
In 1994 I recorded a demo with sequenzer - but I decided to record it again and did this in 1998 .Analogue recording with Yamaha MT 8 X , I had no drumsticks so I used the Jazz Brush instead . Hope you enjoy ! Thank you for the love , support and stopping by - one love to you :)

This site is for my musical avatar or alter ego. Architect/partner/company owner by day, I find myself playing guitar and writing these tracks in afterhours, at nights, evenings, when in need of a dose of guitar sounds. You will find a wide range of guitar oriented music, ranging from Jazz to Blues, Flamenco to Classical, Rock to Fusion. And many collaborations with some great musicians.

I have been playing guitar since I was 11 years old, largely self-taught and have tried different styles and instruments: Renaissance lute, flamenco guitar, classical guitar, steel string guitar and electric guitar with which I have been playing in styles ranging from rock and metal in my early years to classical music, some American Folk music, jazz rock, prog rock, flamenco nuevo and fusion.

It’s been a splendid time here so far, in collaborating with a lot of brilliant musicians on SoundCloud and sharing ideas and the passion for music. 
My collaborations are with musicians that I have a deep respect for and have a mutual appreciation for real instruments, and musical styles that focus on letting the instruments “shine”.
