'Bluetech is a classically trained musician who has been releasing electronic music since 2003, and has over 30 releases to his name.  He has toured internationally and shared stages with some of the biggest names in electronic music, scored video games, won awards for his short film scores and continues to invest in and build community around electronic music. Two of his self released albums charted on Billboard in 2019 (at #10 and #5) and Alien Breakdance is honored to have him on their debut release for the label! 

Electro Breaks has been around since the earliest days of Hip Hop and the Breakdancing phenomenon that accompanied it. As a huge fan of this sound since that ground breaking moment in time, Treavor Moontribe (of Desert Dwellers, PheuZen, Moontribe Collective LA) has once and for all decided it’s time to start his own music label dedicated to this sound. Thus Alien Breakdance has arrived! 

The title track “Underwater Cities” was previously released by Bluetech on his label Behind The Sky. A deep and more ambient take on spacey electro breaks, with robotic vocals and twisted modular synthesis, this track has been a staple in Treavor’s DJ sets under his own electro moniker PheuZen. This lead to the idea of having the track remixed and making it the first release on his new label. 

First up on remix duties is one of today’s top selling electro artists Art Was Art who has been in the top 10 on Beatport’s recently added Electro (Classic, Detroit, Modern) genre page pretty much non stop since it launched! With the BPM bumped up and re-creating the vocals, this vocal reconstruction mix adds lush pads and a more hypnotic driving groove to perfectly compliment the original track. 

Next up if the PheuZen remix by label boss Treavor Moontribe which takes many elements from the original and speeds them up into a more heavy techno electro vibe. The breakdown is really where the magic happens as the bass line changes, everything builds up into distorted mayhem and then drops hard after a monstrous drum fill!

Sound Avenue wraps up a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of ‘A Fading Dream' by Madloch & Subnode. Originally released in August of 2023 as the lead piece to the duo's 'A Fading Dream' EP, the deep dubbed-out nine-minute epic was one of depth, character and groove. Fully formed within the creative confines of the duo's Belgian studio, it was yet another chapter in Madloch & Subnode's prolific partnership, one which has succeeded in showcasing their inventive approach to composition, while remaining both club-effective and listener friendly. Moving forward, the duo wrapped up a successful 2023 with the October release of ‘September Day', a concise yet whimsical and wondrously dreamy piece of music which was celebrated for its fluttery drum arrangements and airy sense of space. With 2024 now well into its second quarter, Sound Avenue looks back on ‘A Fading Dream', inviting Figueras, Diego Moreira and Ercos Blanka to re-imagine the track for the summer season.
