A rare celestial visitor from beyond the void 🪐

3I/ATLAS is the third confirmed interstellar object ever observed. Discovered on 1 July 2025 by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, it’s up to about 28 km wide, traveling fast and will pass just inside Mars’ orbit in late October 2025. Likely an active comet, it may form a glowing coma and tail as it nears the Sun. 

Though hidden behind the Sun at closest approach, it should reappear by December 2025. Interstellar visitors like 3I/ATLAS carry material from distant planetary systems, offering a rare glimpse into worlds beyond our own and bringing significant changes into the energy grid of our solar system.

After the success of Aboutface's debut EP on Amirali's Dark Matters Imprint in October of 2015, Aboutface performed his project 'Vaga' the River Wye as a metaphorical representation of the journey of humanity, live at Freerotation (2016), the performance was also broadcast on NTS Radio on 16/7/16. Following this mesmerising and exploratory project, the young London based composer and DJ returns with a new release. 'In The Tepid Shine We Breathe' is due out on the 19th of September.

The three track EP opens with 'In The Tepid Shine We Breathe feat. Darker', Aboutface's subtle skill imbues his work with a stillness and precision even when blending analogue forms of media 'such as 1/4" tape, Cassettes and VHS as a part of the sonic palette,' he is able to create additional depth in his music. Darker aka Jenna Whelan's Vocals gently break the tumbling elements with an airy beauty.

‘There Must Be Chaos Within You To Give Birth To A Dancing Star', the second track on the EP showcases Aboutface's use of field recordings, light rain spatters the ground as a warbling synth line gradually becomes bolder. Eventually this is joined by a simple drum pattern, somehow managing to maintain the eery melancholia Aboutface is so adept at creating.

Redshape steps up for a remix of the title track. He highlights the vocal sample before rearranging the drums into a punchier and more streamlined rhythm. The track morphs into a dance floor heater, perfectly complimenting the slower pace of the originals with a faster and straightforward approach.

Since his first successes as a DJ and producer, Marco Tegui has been drawn to the most renowned dance floors of the world - from the Winter Music Conference in Miami, via Ibiza and to Berlin. He is accompanied along the way by the three artists The Note V, Vruno and Tone of Arc. The Wizard Sails Alone, constistent with the rest of the EP, moves within the lowest BPM-Range and incorporates elegant vocals in the process. Untitled Bong shines with playful flutes and dreamy melodies. Chilaquiles is defined  with a fabulous drumming. Next, Times High speeds up the tempo with catchy Deep House elements and synth chords. Ayayay rounds off the EP by pulsating percussions and string instruments. The Wizard, a timeless must have, impressively embodies a South American rhythmic feel and invites lovers of genre-surpassing club music to the land of the sun.

Marco Tegui & Vruno - Times High [Bar25-066]

Following up on the latest release by Muno which was influenced by the sounds of South America, the fifth EP delivered by Heimlich Musik comes with two disco bangers by Johannes Klingebiel and remixes by O/Y and Fred Behrtet.

Created in Prague, the two original tracks with their melancholic harmonies are mirrors of two beautiful years Johannes Klingebiel spent in the Czech capital. "Voula" carries elements clearly influenced by Nicolas Jaar, putting them into an entirely different context. Reduced to a very limited number of  elements, "Goodbye" delivers a mood hard to describe in words. Except the beat section the song mainly uses a bassline and a few pad sounds to transport the brightness that is needed to describe the idea of the track. Remixing "Voula", Fred Behrtet is adding some additional power to the original version that suits the dancefloor even more, and up and coming shooting star O/Y delivers a  remix combining his characteristic weirdness with beats that unexperienced DJs might have a hard time with. All in all, the release is a perfect fit for melancholic late summer days and a smooth start into autumn.
