It always amazes me how a collaboration can change the whole feeling of a song. Such is the case when Cloud artist Devin Locke reached out to me to collaborate.  I sent him a tune I had been working on, but would not necessarily stand on it's own.  What he did with his fine playing, getting inside the basic melody, bringing out the possibilities, reminded me of the playing of Django Reinhardt and helped me hear the song in a whole new light. I am a finger-style guitarist living on the Texas high plains.  At the core of my music is melody that is inspired and informed by my Christian faith, family, friends, and countless influences through the years from the great composers, to jazz, folk, rock, Latin, Celtic, and the many fine musicians I have come to love on the Cloud, some I have been privileged to collaborate with. Is Time a relative realm, or does it exist as unique, static & monolithic, and the things and beings pass in an illusory manner while it does not change at all ?
Who can say that time exists in any way other than intangible ? If this exists, can it be judging or helping in any other way than philosophically ....................................................

I have a lot of respect for all musicians.
It seems that I have spent most of my life with a biased musical taste. It's a shame. Here on Soundcloud, everyone is overflowing with freedom of expression, in a thousand and one waves of the soul. It's amazing. Thank you everyone.

I enjoy composing, arranging and recording music on an ever-expanding array of guitars, especially Fender electrics and Martin acoustics.  My musical journey began more than half a century ago, and every day brings new opportunities for continued growth as a musician.  My current leading influences include Jim Campilongo, Scotty Anderson and Guthrie Trapp.  I love Beethoven, Keith Richards, Henry Mancini, Aretha Franklin and a thousand others whose music has brought me joy, whether for many decades or for a few minutes.  I strive to learn something from every piece of music that I hear, and to make music that others will enjoy hearing.

I'm an amateur DIYer in terms of recording, doing everything in my music space at home and learning as I go.  I enjoy experimenting with a variety of microphones and mic placements, recording into a Zoom R16 and using Audacity as my DAW.  I use an array of Fender tube amps, all blackface/silverface reissues, and a modest pedal board.  I record acoustic instruments either with condenser microphones directly on the instruments or else amped through a Fishman Loudbox Mini.

I enjoy composing piano pieces. My music is recorded acoustically without any further mixing or mastering.

Like all here, I’m just trying to leave an echo !   Just trying to say I was here. How lucky are we to live in an age when that is possible?

Since October 2023, Sunday jams with Gman and Reggie.  We record under name of:   “the charlatans”.  Or lately, the Sunday Jam.
