After listening to this track from The Anthropophobia Project for months, I decide that I just had write something to go with it, and I am grateful that Mike was so open and helpful to the cause.

I sing, and I declare that song
Is my highest form of communication.

I am because I sing.
Because I have a voice, 
And ears with which to hear it.

Because I was born into a world with
Vast musical geography,
I have learned to tune my voice in specific
Pitches, to express the light and
The dark passions of existence, all of them,
Through my heavy, liquid heart.

To sense the force of life
Which is some form of light,
As it travels to me and through me.

And because I live on a watery planet,
I have witnessed the birth of songs,
In the presence of streams
And of rivers.

Because I inhabit a universe with a force called Time,
That which pushes everything forward into 
Irresistible change,
I have come to see that whatever is real 
Is so much heavier than I ever knew
Because it is so tightly woven,
Even as it is so much lighter and softer
Than I ever knew, because
We can barely touch the weave

And yet our hearts and brains drown
In the quest to understand
How it all was made
But the fabric is whatever we touch and
Whatever we name it
For the mysterious consciousness which so moves us
Moves through our hearts
Obeying the will of flow

So, what if all that which we ponder is yet
Imperfect and incomplete at every level, 
Still flowing toward something and somewhere?
What if flow, by balancing the force of life,
And the force of decay, is the creator?

Hope grows with the desire to maintain that which
Has already been created, and with the giving
Of outspoken love to the mysteries 
Which define us

I sing, and therefore I am 
Existing, in a place where song
Is the highest form of liquid communication
And how is song not the very consciousness which
Makes me declare that I am?

Why should mystery not exist?  
Why should we ever understand it all?
What if our heavy, liquid hearts 
Generate some part of the force 
Which drives us to live while we may?

Who I Am

This is a song about breaking up, not because you want to, but because it seems like the best thing for both of you. Or maybe thats just how you rationalise it to yourself. Started working on this over a year ago but decided to not redo any of the guitars and do the best I could with it. Maybe that was a bad decision. If I ever decide to rerecord it I could probably make it sound better.  Kinda just wanted to get it out there and move on from the song (for now).

Had the guitar written for this for ages and recently put it to some nice lyrics about performing at an open mic, no ones listening except the one person you care about, and that's all you need. Lots of clean up possible but kinda burnt out on it and wanna move on, initially thought id have harmonising vocals and some strings but I never got them to work (hence the demo).
