Linear System is an artist based in Costa Rica who has close ties to the highly regarded Scottish imprint, Edit Select Records. A label that has released four out of five of his studio albums, as well as several EPs in just a few years. Outside of his regular appearances on the highly respected Glasgow stable, he also lists quality additions to his back catalogue such as Ben Sims' Symbolism, Marco Bailey's MATERIA, Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection, Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien, Marco Lenzi's Molecular, BCCO, and Detroit-based Blank Code, as well as his own Modern Minimal that started life in 2022. Having played everywhere from Portugal to China, he is an experienced DJ with a clear understanding of how to capture the listener with engaging grooves and trippy atmospherics. This exclusive mix covers all grounds from thundering kicks, raw jackin' cuts, to intense hypnotics, and never loses sight of the dance floor. He succeeds in working up a frenzy of joy by the impeccable selections with detailed sound design and uptempo beats. AMORAL x Stephanie Sykes | Clergy Podcast [2/10]

This is the 9th episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions' mixed by Denise Rabe!

Denise Rabe's experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer.
 
Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.
 
This has allowed her to recruit the artist who's work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels.
 
Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12“ in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label's staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published „Manifesto“ in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development.
 
Rabe's particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

Nachtstrom Sessions #09 - Denise Rabe (02.06.2025)

DJ y productor asturiano nacido en Oviedo. Tanto su sonido como DJ o sus producciones musicales se basan en un profundo respeto al sonido techno, sus influencias no entienden de modas, se apartan de ese camino y son otros los pilares musicales con los que ha formado su propio universo sonoro. 
La suma de todas esas percepciones, se empezaron a plasmar hace un par de años con su debut discográfico, nada mas y nada menos que en el sello Warm Up Recordings de Oscar Mulero, vio la luz su primer disco 'Origen Cero' en el cual nos muestra todo el espectro Techno que tiene interiorizado. La segunda referencia publicada fue para el sello Axis Records de Jeff Mills, “Futuristic Technology” en la que nos muestra sus raíces y sus influencias más dominantes, acercándonos a un viaje sonoro de otro mundo. Estos dos lanzamientos le dan a conocer y hacen que desde entonces haya publicado en sellos tan importantes como Semántica, Molecular Recordings, Edit Select, Illegal Allien, Faut Section, Legend1997 y muchos mas sellos en los que ha podido enseñarnos su visión del techno.

En la parte artística de cabina intenta realizar sets dinámicos, crear atmosferas y llevarnos a paisajes musicales de otros mundos como hace en su residencia en Lanna Club. 

Todo esto hace que nos encontremos con un artista que va marcando su propio camino, sin prisa por llegar, pero sin salirse de él.
