Amplify Series 116 - Yant

This is the 9th episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions' mixed by Denise Rabe!

Denise Rabe's experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer.
 
Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.
 
This has allowed her to recruit the artist who's work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels.
 
Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12“ in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label's staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published „Manifesto“ in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development.
 
Rabe's particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

Based in Stockholm, Lakej emerges from a long heritage of Swedish techno.
After many years of explorations to refine his sound, he debuted on Adriana Lopez label Grey
Report with the solo EP Structural Cohesion. This debut presented a theme that would guide not
only his sound but also his concepts and titles to this current date resulting in his own label and
artistic platform: Solitär.

Since the debut his output has been steady on well established labels such as Semantica, NON
series, Faut Section, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Soma and Kazerne (Mord).

About Vertical Spectrum:

VS is the latest project of a Polish producer from Silesia, whose stage activity began in 2000. Over time, his musical variations and constant passion, which he showed under various
alter egos, also playing live acts, led to the creation of Vertical Spectrum, under which name the first official EP was released in 2015. After several subsequent releases, he received an offer to record the first vinyl for the German Nachtstrom Schallplatten, associating the top names of the techno scene, and for which he has so far released 5 vinyls, including 1 album. The result was collaboration with many legendary names, culminating in remixes of techno aces such as Alexander Kowalski, Patrik Skoog, Abstract Division, Developer and Samuli Kemppi, as well as proposals for further productions for prestigious labels - Dynamic Reflection, Tsunami Records, owned by the Spanish legend Christian Wunsch, or Granulard Records, under the banner of 1/2 of the Exium duo. As a result, in 2018 he received proposals to work with Pole Group, under the leadership of Oscar Mulero himself.

2021 is another milestone in his career, which resulted in releases for the world's leading techno labels, such as:

Greek-born and Berlin-based, producer and DJ AgainstMe is a resident at SMUT Athens and a co-founder of the SOCIETY 3000 collective. His project is rooted in the ongoing quest to connect with one's inner voice. For him, techno — characterized by hypnotic melodies, pounding drum patterns, and a ritualistic intensity — offered a revolutionary and unifying sound that sharply contrasted with everything he had known before.

Since discovering his passion for techno in 2014 at just 16 years old, his sound has steadily evolved, and his releases have gained international recognition. His DJ sets, much like his productions, weave together driving rhythms and atmospheric textures, creating immersive experiences that captivate audiences around the globe.
