Sound Signature: A symbol or icon defined by things heard. No sound is wrong. No sound is too elusive to escape arrangement, one's signature.

Sound Signature: An event, emotion, or feeling described by sound, but not limited to it. Expression given a direction. A focus through arrangement, our personal language at any given moment. No one can duplicate your signature, your mark, your life.

The difference between imitation and emulation is specific experience. No one else has walked your path, lived your vision.

There is no right or wrong way, only different ways as there are different people. We will learn reverence from each other through expressing our symbols, our hieroglyphs. This is my attempt to share mine.

vi•sion quest (noun): a search for personal communication with the spirit world. 

Every mystical journey eventually comes to a fork in the road. The seeker of life’s destiny has two options: remain satisfied with whatever level of consciousness he has already attained, or push forward into ever-new domains of promise and possibility. 2014 sees dance music’s best-known spiritual pilgrims, the Visionquest trio of Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, and Shaun Reeves, bravely embarking upon that wondrous journey. Each member of this celebrated DJing and production team contributes a distinct yet interlocking vision that together forms a seamless, organic whole. Just think of Crosson’s enthusiastic shuffle, Lee’s soulful stare, Shaun’s soft touch. Everything they craft has the same unmistakable flair: slow-burning, shape-shifting, expansive techno and house marked by compositional elegance and unabashed pop hooks.

Although long-time partner and co-conspirator Seth Troxler has stepped aside to pursue other projects, 2013 was the biggest year ever for the four. Inspired by the passing of the Mayan calendar, the group embarked upon Visionquest 13, 13 dates where the boys not only played together the whole night, but curated a true multimedia experience. From London to Buenos Aires, from the American hinterland to the Chilean wilderness, Visionquest 13 was a Freudian trip into the deepest recesses of the Detroit rave unconscious, what Ibiza Voice described as a “collective expedition into the depths of your soul”—but with a sophisticated, modern twist.

Their accomplishments are well-known and too many to list. For starters: a critically acclaimed 2011 Fabric mix; year-defining hit remixes for artists as diverse as Kiki, Wareika, Tracey Thorn, and David Lynch; showcases and dates in the biggest clubs and festivals around the world; and the creation of a now iconic-label that’s played host to dancefloor weaponry from the likes of Benoit & Sergio, Life & Death, Dinky, and Laura Jones—all this while each member maintained significant individual production and DJ careers. But, by definition, no journey dwells in the past. So in 2014 they launched Visionquest Special Editions, a limited-release, vinyl only label. Evoking the experimental sounds of the European techno avant-garde that first inspired the boys back in Detroit, the debut release, remixes of Montreal songwriter Quilla, features a stunning collaboration between Shaun and long-time hero Ricardo Villalobos. With Visionquest Special Editions we see the group at home at a breezy, gentle afterparty, not just igniting the club. As Visionquest winds around the corner into their bright future, they remain open and excited for what lies ahead.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

Juarés, also known as djslut, is a Mexican DJ, producer, and promoter based in Berlin since 2014. He began his career in Mexico City’s underground at Rhodesia and AM Local Club before later performing at MN Roy, Bar Oriente, and Departamento. In Berlin, he’s played at venues like Oxi, Sisyphos, Renate, and Barcelona’s Moog, building a strong reputation in electronic music.

As Juarés, his sets focus on trippy melodies and eclectic selections, from dark disco and Neue Deutsche Welle to world/organic electronics. Under the alias djslut, he shifts into harder territory, exploring techno, electro, and breaks with introspective and hypnotic energy. Both projects reflect a no-nonsense approach to creating immersive dancefloor
experiences.

Juarés co-founded the wwwet collective and regularly collaborates with underground crews. He has recorded for platforms like Lodown Magazine, Radio Vilnius, Cannibal Radio, Feed Your Head, Refuge Worldwide and Aire Libre FM, showcasing his wideranging taste. His music reflects his commitment to the electronic scene, blending dynamic sounds with versatile performances.

Each EP explores a different strain of techno, favoring risk and a personal vision over trends—drawing on Ambient, Experimental and Techno to craft hypnotic melodies and a clear, honest electronic aesthetic.

Their DJ sets are immersive journeys, merging technical precision with deep musical culture.

In 2024 they founded Oldbridge Records, a platform to push sonic boundaries and champion like-minded artists.

Esilum continues to stand out as an innovative and influential presence on the international techno circuit.
