This is what happens behind closed doors, a space to showcase both our resident brands, local selectors and upcoming and unsigned talent that regular grace our booth, to keep you both gassed for these nights and to put some limelight on the boundless selectors that make up the scene here and showcase some of the sound our little bar has to offer. There is something for everyone here, with Garage to Disco, Breaks to Minimal. We cater for everyone with a essence on the underground sound. You can catch pretty much all these DJs performing at our venue at some point over the year so this gives you a true capture of the sound of Distrikt and our artists and their events. Distrikt Presents The Lock In 044: Soulcat (Kadence)

Episode 26 of the Lock is a tech infused bouncy mix from Italian native and .WAV head Alessandro Martini. After moving to New Zealand, Alessandro became a Resident DJ at the NZ renowned event Electric Rush, supporting artists such as Solardo, Weiss UK, Max Chapman and Dennis Cruz. He later moved to Leeds to pursue music, joining forces with Sam Pratt to push there own midweek night .WAV at Distrikt, promoting local up and coming DJs and played at venues such as mint warehouse.

Martini has expresses his passion for Techno and House music through energetic and driven DJ sets and productions with a sound influenced by Leeds underground minimal music scene and the infectious sounds of Michael Bibi and wAFF. A sound represented  by a solid low end, pitch shift delays, a swung groove and the use of outlandish vocal samples.

Coming in hot for mix 27 of our lock-in series, Sueño resident Josh Burlo steps up with an hour of grooving, deep minimal and tech. One of our most regular nights at the bar, Sueno, brings the heat each month on a regular Thursday slot. They've already hosted a number of belting acts at Distrikt including Djoko, Monika Ross, Annie Errez and more, as well as hosting and playing at various other venues from 212 to Mint Warehouse. Pure good vibes guaranteed.

LS:MIX resident Edëff steps up for no.28 of the lock in with a major eclectic mix spanning across the globe of electronic music, transporting you to another world through the marriage of house, Disco, electronic and world music.

The LS:MIX collective have hosted a series of parties across Leeds most recently forming a collective with Fortynine and Material hosting Skatebard at Sheaf Street pre lockdown. They'll be back in the bar in the next few months. Keep your eyes open to get involved when they return. Top vibes guaranteed.

Distrikt Presents The Lock In 28: Edëff (LS:MIX)

Our latest mix comes from the all-female collective Intermix_ that was set up to push the finest female DJs around the UK and further afield. 

Before lockdown came in we were meant to have the team in alongside Annie Errez on headline duties in the bar, so it's great to have them on a mix for the moment. 
Representing Intermix we have a newly formed collective MOSSA. 
‘MOSSA’ is a female collective formed of good friends and Manchester DJ/Producers Jini Cowan and Janina J. Jini Cowan is known for her varied styles of production and commandeering her very own house/minimal label ANIMA, whilst Janina J has played various venues such as South, Joshua brooks, Stage & Radio in Manchester and producing and releasing on labels such as Johnny Johnny.

Both girls love to roll out the deep minimal sound and this mix does it perfectly. Lock In.

Episode 30 of the Lock In comes from Social Hours Resident Luke XL. He steps up with a belting deep and cosmic club mix of house, techno and minimal flavours, pushing through breakbeat, acid up to straight trippy raging wafters which will have any crowd on their feet.

We are still kicking it with the killer mixes as we take you on a deep and grooving hour of minimal techno and trippy deep house from Karis. 

Always trying to encompass elements of nostalgia into her set's. Her aim is to move people with her music with sets that consist of infectious grooves infused with acid and punchy percussion, her sounds are matched by her boundless energy in the booth.
The past 7 years have seen her go from strength to strength earning her stripes in 2013 playing for 'Housewife London' and other underground parties including 'Sub:terranea', 'Schwein & Badornment', 'Limit', 'Get Together', 'System & Set One Twenty' and hosting her own party whynot? for a time. Playing alongside artists such as Cinthie, D'julz and Ida Engberg.

In 2018 she continued to build a name for herself playing at MiNT Warehouse - Dirty Disco, alongside Derrick Carter & Jasper James. Not to mention her MiNT Club debut amongst other great line-ups inc techno royalty, Ben Llock, Chris Liebing & Molly. She's also played MiNT Festival in 2018 & 2019, not forgetting possibly her biggest gig to date closing for OCTAVE ONE at Sheaf St!
In 2019 she relentlessly chased the dream, playing on Soho Radio and Securing more gigs at MiNT/ System, supporting Dyed Soundorom, Enzo Siragusa & Rich Nxt. She was asked to play at some new parties too inc, Moonunit, Sueno & Ruckas, supporting big headliners inc Steve Lawler, Burkski & Josh Baker. 2019 also saw Karis make her Welsh debut playing for Westival and she rounded off the year off making her Boombox Circus debut supporting Marshall Jefferson!!
She also celebrated the 3rd anniversary and said goodbye to her own club brand Whynot, in pursuit of other creative projects. Starting out at Project London Radio and a new residency with Manchster based anima.

Prescribe The Vibe's Norfn Gyal steps up for #29 of the lock in mix series bringing a super eclectic selection of bangers to get you bouncing off the walls. Moving through an array of electronic styles from house, garage, acid Breakbeat, Techno & more. 

Norfn Gyal aka Amber Garland-Jones transcendent sounds and technical prowess can often be heard throughout the industrial complexes of the North. Pushing the music she is passionate about: Techno, House, Garage, Rap, Acid, jungle or whatever else she may be feeling She has been killing it as DJ in the Leeds scene, playing regularly for HighRise and Good Life crews as well as her own event Prescribe The Vibe, which she hosted a regular slot on KMAH.

For the 32nd mix of our series, Nadsat is the owner of Catch Recordings steps up. A DJ and music producer, his widespread understanding of electronic music, and his musical vision enables him to showcase his personal integration of sounds and art throughout both his music and record label. He brings a deep, dark and trippy mix for his hour.

033 of the lock in brings a special mix stepping outside our district circle for this one. Spin City is a club night and crew showcasing the best local and up-and-coming artists from the world of UKG and bass music. The residents, all with their unique take on garage and its many sub-genres, will bring bangers, old and new, and exclusive tracks and mixes from producers and DJ’s who make up the landscape of the new garage revival. Hosted by DJ Kimura, Millennium Edit and Tañ. R-O-V joined them in a cheeky lockdown b2b2b2b where they put together this mix for us and its a true garage masterclass. They crew have only thrown a few parties across Leeds. but will be looking to get this formidable crew into the venue once parties are back in action.

Distrikt Presents The Lock In 033: DJ Kimura, Tañ , Millennium Edit and R-O-V (Spin City)

Our latest mix comes from The Moretti Club's Gina Moretti. 

From Dubai to Leeds, Gina first started out DJing when she lived in the UAE, setting up her own boat parties in Dubai, with further residencies and guest radio slots following. Following her return to Leeds she set up Club Moretti and has been a firm fixture in Mission's Grim Up North Events with a Room 3 residency alongside parties at 212, A Bar Below, Beaverworks, The Warehouse, Hifi as well as Distrikt.
Her own sound captures a foot-stomping mix of disco edits, full-fat house, funky throwdowns and classic vocals which is projected perfectly in this full hour of feel goodness.

Distrikt Presents The Lock-IN 034: Gina Moretti (The Moretti Club)

Number 35 of the lock in series comes from Al Bradley. As label manager & A&R at 3am Recordings, Al Bradley has been involved with house music (either on the dancefloor or behind the decks) for the last 20 years, kicking things off with visits to The Hacienda in his hometown of Manchester in the late 80’s & moving through the amazing northern club scene over the following years. As such, DJ influences range from Graeme Park, Tom Wainwright, Sasha, Ralph Lawson, Miles Hollway & Elliot Eastwick, James Holroyd, David Morales, Slam, Harri & Domenic Cappello are to name just a handful. 

Since the launch of 3am Recordings in June 2003, it has amassed an impressive following making it one of the most consistent deep/tech house labels in the UK. 
In the early days it gathered a lot of publicity worldwide and especially through europe thanks to features in I-DJ Magazine and DJ Mag. 

Al regularly represents 3am all across the UK and has hosted parties in Europe and amaerican at nights such as SONAR festival. Al also served a 18th Residency at the famous Bugged Out! at Sankeys in Manchester. As a producer he has put  records out under his own name for a number of years as well as Chemical Warfare and Audiotonic. Having already recorded and remixed for many of the top deep & tech house labels such as Cubism, Presslab Records, Baker Street Recordings, Heartbeat Revolutions, Paper Recordings, Bullet Dodge Records, Deepology Digital, Bounce House Recordings & more alongside his own 3am Recordings, with the discography continuing to grow & Al’s production skills ever more in demand. This mix features a lot of his own productions and remix's showcasing his deep, dubby and rolling style of house and techno.

Stepping up for the lastest lock-in mix we welcome party and facebook community The Inner Circle who invite resident @dinhterlude to showcase their sound, providing us with an hour of lush UK house amongst other pleasant oddities.

The Inner Circle started by PADDY and REES has been going for just over a year now and has connected people all over the world together with a common interest of electronic music, and have also hosted multiple nights in our home of Distrikt, before lockdown with Tech Support joining them on the last show.

This weeks mix comes from Paradise Discs @Friedunderground 
Having started out as a resident for Leeds based collective LS:MIX, Josh Fry started paradise discs as he developed a love and sound for everything slow, cosmic, chugging and funky. Currently holding a residency with paradise discs  at Belgrave, they have also done regular shows across KMAH radio, 212, Old Red Bus station, Hifi & of course with us here at Distrikt providing a solid sunday affair in these strange times. Listen in below for a hour of funky electronic delights that will get your right up on them feet!

Distrikt Presents The Lock In 39: Fried (Paradise Discs)

Josh Demello stepping up for the latest lock-in mix bringing a power hour and a half showcasing the true Ruckus24 sound. 

Hailing from the Yorkshire's capital of Leeds, Josh Demello started his journey at illegal warehouse raves built around the Acid House sound during the late 90s, he has built himself a name from the beginning. Whether it be promoting parties, showing support for his local scene as a clubber or playing sets, Josh has proven himself to be a worthy player. Starting out with residencies at venues such as Mint Club, The Warehouse, Club Mission in Leeds and later the legendary club Sankeys in Manchester and became the youngest Ministry of Sound Resident at the age of 18 at the brands club in Egypt. Having played alongside some of the world’s biggest names, Demello has earned his stripes as a DJ playing at some of the most respected clubs on the party haven of Ibiza: Privilege, Amnesia and Sankeys to name but a few.

Most recently Josh started his own event Ruckus 24 which has been putting on some incredible parties hosting at unique venues, Mint Warehouse and of course our own Distrikt with an incredible NYE party last year with Julian Perez.

Drawing Circles Resident @oyememusic joins us as our first guest of 2021 on the lock-in mix series to keep your spirits up through these difficult times and bring those feel-good vibes to you wherever you are. This mix jumps through a lot of different styles and vibes, from jazzy breaks, soulful house, to acid, to minimal while keeping it light and funky.

Mix 41 of the Lock-in series welcome April.  April is the pseudonym of Leeds based DJ & promoter, Ben Moulson. Alongside DJing and part of Fortynine / Forrest Road Soundsystem, Ben co-pilots Leeds based techno night ‘Chorus’, a recently launched party, heavily focused on showcasing up & coming UK techno talent.  April curates his sets with a contrast of the old school and the new. Blending quick tempos, gritty textures and uplifting melodies to construct an atmosphere and this mix showcases him in all his strength bringing some much needed energy, techno, rave and hardcore to the series. We're excited to welcome Chorus to Distrikt once clubs can open again, but for now enjoy the mix.
