Bailey has been entrenched in drum & bass and jungle since the earliest chapters of the movement – his role on pirate station Energy FM, his residency with Metalheadz during its most era-defining Blue Note moments, his 10-year tenure at BBC Radio 1Xtra, the list goes on – but most importantly he’s still right in the heart of the scene now. Resolute, inspired, and dedicated; he is one of the most consistent selectors and supporters of the genre in every possible direction.

As a broadcaster, he’s never been busier with regular shows on Kool FM and The BoAt Pod and allowing him to push the very best of new drum & bass and champion new talent across multiple platforms and territories. As a promoter, he’s the founder of Intabeats Music, an event brand dedicated to the true underground sound that’s renowned for its midweekly and unique inner-city locations. As a vibe-obsessed producer, he has developed a powerful line of releases on Metalheadz, Dispatch, C.I.A and Full Cycle. As a lecturer at Point Blank and Middlesex University, he is fully committed to ensuring the movement is just as strong for the next generation, sharing his knowledge and insights in the same impassioned way he shares the sounds he loves as a DJ.   

Above all, he is one of the most articulate, incisive, deepest-digging and industry-respected DJs in the game. Foundation-deep roots and reference points and a stash of dubs you’d sell your soul for, his sets are singular experiences that join the dots and weave the genre’s many substyles. Music’s power is in creating community, and this is the essence of Laurence Guy’s work. The London-based DJ and producer’s motto is ‘music to make you feel feelings’: whether that’s comfort, nostalgia, bittersweetness or melancholy. His sound has an unmistakable warmth while being squarely aimed at the dancefloor: samples fit into sprawling keys, and dusty drums thud under lush chords. Amid a string of EPs, Guy has released two acclaimed albums; 2017’s blissful house LP Saw You For The First Time and 2023’s Living Like There’s No Tomorrow, But Killing Yourself In The Process, gracing labels including Studio Barnhus, Ninja Tune, Shall Not Fade and more, now signed to Future Classic. He’s now armed with a stash of hip hop and filter house influenced dance tracks, like the Jamie xx-tipped ‘Hey Baby’ and the groove-laden ‘Most Perfect People (Are Mostly Not Perfect)’ that are already soundtracking people’s best life moments.
