mixes that don't suck

Ever since I saw my first real DJ in the early 90's, I've always been fascinated by how seamlessly two songs could be mixed together.  Sometimes the transition would be good, and sometimes it would sound amazing!  That feeling when the blend is so perfect, it gives you goosebumps.  In this mix, I tried my best to duplicate that feeling 25 times in a row.  

I was digging through my back-catalogue, and chose my favourite Liquid tunes from the past 5 years that I hadn't fit into a mix yet.  Harmonic mixing, long smooth blends, and plenty of double-drops.   Watch the ride!

Naughty or Nice Christmas party at the Circus Church.  Had another Christmas party that ended at 11:45 and rushed over the Circus Church and was able to catch the 2nd half of Lucho’s set before I started at 1:00. It was my birthday today and I was invited to play a fundraiser to get the Ticket Booth back on playa.  The party was in a sweet location with some of the best and friendliest folks attending.  So many good vibes on the dancefloor!  I finished my set and the whole party sang happy birthday to me before the next DJ started.  Such a fun day and I feel incredibly lucky to know such wonderful people.

WINNING SET From The 8th Annual Dirty Tones DJ Competition 2016

Playing music on New Years Day is always one of my favourite sets of the year.  We've all put the old year to bed and come together to share in the coming years rich potential.  Over time, I've found that the sets that resonate are the ones that riff on classics, are rich with soul, that are just all the way down funky.  Comfort music.  Feel good music.  
 Accessible, but done right, hits for the heads as well.  I nabbed this recording from a set that I did not think was going to happen.  2020 was a rough year.
