Good Chillout I Found

Alpha Remasters are where I go back and do little splice-merges of audio segments in Mixcraft or another DAW and fix it up so that I sound less hesitant (because remember, originally these pieces I do get at best 2 takes ever, I am composing at the same time as performing).
So they may get micro-splices all over and then brought back into the DAW as a dummy-WAV and at that point, the last stage is to scrunch 96% length so its 4% faster, and generally makes it seem like I am performing with a lot more confidence.

Dissatisfaction Expands To The Available Space

A very short ambient/jazz track with some pads in it

It is sort of like, supposed to be a cutesy update of the little amusing short piano thing in Winger's apartment before he does the pushups at the beginning of Stripes(1981) with Bill Murray.  That they play for about 2 loops.  I know how to play that by ear too and get good satisfaction out of that just laughing at it.

This one per the cover art is sort of an update to Soyjak life in current-day dystopia industrialized cities or something.  He's got his little delusion graphic in his head that things are fine and reality is the smog etc.

The Middle Eight of Mach Rider's Main Tune for original 8-bit NES.

No intent to infringe, free track for all.

Middle 8 is kind of a misnomer it's longer than 8 measures but it's accurate enough as "the part you don't normally hear until you're advanced into something"  As this tune only played if you were at least 8 courses into the game's progression.  When the ruins are replaced by futuristic buildings on the horizon.

Dedicated to all of those who are headed either direction on I-5 into Seattle at around exit 190's ish not really obeying 80 MPH in the left lane.  We know who you are.  A significant fraction of you are humming exactly this portion.

Performed manually without any arpeggiation, from memory.  It's a little glitchy but it's the fondness for it that counts.

This track, produced by the Musicus Project, is rearranged by me in the combo-jazz-classical style for my duo with Marie-Christine Tremblay: MCDC.  It stars Tim Morgan on piano;  Olivier Mallette on drums;  François Moisan on bass and me on guitar. Scraping MIDI from mp3 carries its own inaccuracies and perils but one way to smooth it over is to use pad-like sounds so that repeated staccato 32nd's sound continuous.  This seemed to work well.

I mean the particular tones used to mask the mandolin-like effect were chosen maybe sub optimally to sound more like the Beatles chopping up calliope sounds, they would be better later changed to string-instrument pads more in line with violins and stuff.

Wah-Wah Walk (Lyrical Alpha)

The remaster on this is very minimal and not only that, the ending because it's such slow paced introspection is left at the same tempo as the original.  At this early time in my tracks when i did repeating sections I didn't very often go to this effort level to make a differing end-section.

Buch 5 von "Hinter uns das Land" schlägt ein neues Kapitel auf: Die Schrecken des Krieges liegen hinter den Protagonisten, doch die Narben sind tief. Diese Musiksammlung begleitet die Familie Feyerabend in der Nachkriegszeit, einer Zeit des Wiederaufbaus, der Hoffnung und des langsamen Heilens.
