I joined Smile High on Monday night, along with @trashpanda, and we kicked off the week of Burning Man 2019 with a bang.  We caught up with the car around 12:30am and cruised around for the next few hours.

This was one of those times when DJ and dance floor were totally in sync.  I felt like I could go anywhere musically and play anything, and everyone was right there with me.  We had a blast together!  This was played totally free style, and I brought out some tracks I had never played before.

Monday Night @ Smile High art car, Burning Man 2019

This wasn't your everyday Summer camp, this was a magical Fairy forest with a very selected, and well-vetted group of magical people, which turn into an epic night of beats that took us to one of the most uplifting mornings of our lives. Grateful for having been able to safely had this experience to perform in a live setting in front of other humans, and not behind a screen. This is the recording of that magical sunrise. Enjoy! No official burn happened this year, yet we came together in the truest spirit and created our own experience. New friends and old, we created a weekend together in a house nestled next to the beauty of Zion national park. We made something totally unique and magical - a reflection of all of us who shared our time an energy with each other. We didn’t need that specific spot in the Black Rock Desert to be great.

This set was recorded during our “Berlin Banger” theme night. Straddling the borders of techno, tech house, and progressive, this set was a journey through whips and chains and leather and grunge. We partied until the sun was a faded memory in our own special version of Berlin.

The last 6 minutes of the set is something I added in post production as a tribute to the weekend. Someone captured audio of our friend Meira’s beautiful impromptu recitation of “A Burner’s Prayer” during our own man burn ceremony, which I used to create a track to memorialize the moment.
