@ma3azef has teamed up with mastering engineer Heba Kadry to curate a compilation of new and unreleased materials provided by regional and international musicians to raise funds for the continuous relief work being done on the ground in Beirut to help those who have been failed by the state. 

The 17-track compilation includes contributions by @tho-om, @fatima-al-qadiri, @nicolas-jaar, @zulimusic, @freddymn, @sssarahhharasss, @deenaabdelwahed, @ayametwalli, @thisisismael and more. 

All proceeds from sales of the compilation go to local initiatives providing assistance to those affected, divided between Fundraising Campaign for the Arts and Culture Community in Beirut organised by AFAC; Beirut Musicians' Fund organised by Tunefork Studios, and Beit el Baraka.

Puce Mary is Danish experimental and noise artist, best known for her piercing live performances and full-length releases on Copenhagen’s Posh Isolation and Berlin’s PAN Records. Debuting with several homemade cassettes of noise in the darkness to transmitting ideas and feelings through an increasingly complex musical vocabulary, Frederikke Hoffmeier represents a new era of industrial, noise and experimental music, taking a very thoughtful and emotional approach to the slow-evolving layers of distorted sound.

From a series of skins worn by the British-Egyptian audiovisual artist, creative-computing designer, writer, producer and composer Sarah Badr, FRKTL is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, subjecting her piano, violin and guitar to heavy levels of processing, utilizing live sampling and improvisation, vocal manipulation, field recordings and generative rhythms, composing and independently releasing immersive, hypnotic and haunting explorations of sound.

With references to early techno, new wave and punk, @SalemRashid ’s work as a producer and performer binds post-industrial soundscapes with intricate overlapping rhythms. Relentless, saturated and self-sufficient, his sound tells of a looming future. Rashid is conceptual artist, composer, creative director and founder of Bedouin Records, an independent music, art, and fashion label he founded in 2014, based in Berlin, Dubai, Osaka and recently Bangkok, and its subsidiary Bastakiya Tapes. The label has released more than 30 albums, on vinyl, CD and cassette. Among its releases are works that have earned international acclaim from composers such as Merzbow, Pan Daijing, Tzusing, and Constantine Skourlis.

@ConstantineSkourlis is a musician, composer and producer from Athens, Greece. Using an array of guitars, amplifiers, orchestral instruments, synthesizers, old tube radios and field recordings he blurs the boundaries of genres and draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences such as death metal, classical minimalism, drone and baroque. Throughout his body of work, he scores the end of the world; from his debut album Hades, released on Bedouin Records and named after the Greek god of the underworld, to his scores for film and theatrical productions of epic tragedies like Don Quixote and Richard II. His latest and sophomore LP Eternal Recurrence, sees him pursue his vision towards even more ominous territories, delivering a cathartic release for the chaos that’s permeated throughout this year.

LABOUR is the ambitious project led by Berlin-based sonic duo Farahnaz Hatam and Colin Hacklander, gaining a reputation since 2018 for their large-scale works and collaborative pieces in large concert spaces and museums such as Kraftwerk Berlin, Martin Gropius Bau and Kunsthalle Zürich. Embarking on a grand journey towards a remarkable synthesis of traditions and practices, uniting computer music and avant-garde sensibilities with traditional vocal practice, nine-sum sorcery features the renowned Kurdish singer, Hani Mojtahedy, a prolific performer and recording artist firmly grounded in the traditional vocal styles of both Kurdistan and Iran.

Inspired by Iran’s religious, political and cultural history, @SaintAbdullah  is the music project of Iranian-Canadian brothers Mohammad and Mehdi, now based in Brooklyn. Motivated by the history of Western misconceptions and opposition towards Muslims and the Islamic faith, Saint Abdullah began writing music to serve as cultural translators, with the goal of challenging stereotypes and acting as a conduit between unnecessary enemies. To be released on @ImportantRecords, a note on “To Live a la West”: “This album, like all of our albums, is rooted in our human stories. Personal stories, family stories. This one happens to focus on the chapter that began when we moved to Canada as kids, and left Iran for good.” ~ Moh and Mehdi ~
