My entry for Famicompo Pico 3!! It got 11th place out of 85 entries in the original category. Given how deliberately dissonant, "out there" and harsh this one was, I'm glad it was still very well received!

Done using only 2a03 and VRC7, no DPCM. I put randomized stereo panning on each channel for no reason on this upload also. Also this is the first thing I've ever completed using a tracker! I had always enjoyed tracker-made chiptune, so it made me pretty happy to be able to finally feel comfortable with this way of doing things and these sorts of limits!

"Dirtpilers are a simplistic type of creature, living mostly out of hollowed-out piles of dirt. They live in a largely primitivist sort of way, tending to their piles and growing food atop other piles and partaking in various pile-centric activities. Because they are a very territorial and secretive society, nobody is able to speak of any certainty as to the specific operating structure of their kingdom, aside from that it appears to be a kingdom of some sort, with many smaller piles surrounding one grand, mountainous pile of dirt in the center.
Few have had the privilege of being invited to see what's within this earthen temple, but those few who have witnessed it seem to hold a much greater respect for the Dirtpilers. Almost as though they've found a way to pile much more impressive things than simple mud..."

It was a fun challenge working with 4 channels, it's not something I'm at all used to doing, so it was a new experience for me. I'm hoping to work on more 4 channel songs soon.

Doing collabs is always fun. I like to think about when I was a young child, listening to tracker music on my family's Acorn computer. Most of the games that I played on the Acorn were public domain releases, written by bedroom coder sorts of people, and so a lot of them included .MOD and .STK tracker songs as background music. I didn't even know what trackers were at the time, but I really enjoyed the music, and often I'd load up games just to listen to it.
I think it's really cool that now today, I'm collaborating with other people to write the same kind of music that inspired me from a young age. I hope this song and other songs on botb will inspire other people in the future as well. DBZ FOREVER!!! !!! !!! !!!
