A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this. We have a mix of complete recording newbies, seasoned pros and everything in between. All as incredible as each other.

The MusiCollective is a community of people that get behind each others' projects, for example by helping with songwriting, arrangements, recording and production. It is a continuation of TGS Records (@tgs-records) which started as a lockdown project and has been snowballing new members in ever since. Daydreams And Algorithms

Demo 12 of songs I wrote in my songwriting group. The prompt for this song was to write a recipe in song form. This was a fun/silly write….but also, it’s pretty accurate, so if you want to make some delicious soup just follow along (who needs measurements…)!

The Soup I Was Planning to Make for Dinner (demo)

A song that came out of an atrocious songwriting challenge to write a tune with less than 20 words. So, not my usual wordy rhyme galore style (and makes me cringe a bit still) but a lot of repeating and stretching words out as long as possible, so I hope the extra harmonies somewhat offset the lack of substance... very rough mix at this stage as well because I was in a rush, so the levels and panning are probably a bit dodgy.

This EP is about sharing the everyday experiences we all go through as humans. I had an amazing time creating this project and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! ⚡It's Time⚡

Soil

It always amazes us to see the way that our tracks turn out, as we never start a new song with any preconceived ideas about ‘what it should sound like’. We simply make the music that we have to make, and let each new piece take whatever shape it will, while all we do is help it into the world. This one is no exception. Kevin sent Diane a half dozen ferocious drum patterns, a menacing synth line and a shimmering, blistering whip-cracker of an 808. She started stitching the parts together and, on first listen, both she and Kevin thought that they had a mighty, relentless, shouty mosh pit of a track on their hands. Then, she imported some dulcimer samples, warped, slowed down, transposed and otherwise messed with them, and lo and behold: what began to emerge was the most achingly romantic, bittersweet thing. Diane noticed that all of the files that Kevin sent her were labelled ‘September’, and the more she worked, the more her thoughts started to coalesce around this word, and its association with change, things shutting down, the beginning of the end…

September.
