Recorded on July 14th, 2023 with a Mole-Rat device, a Tascam DR100MK3 and processed using Reaper.

In the early days of Mego prior to it’s transformation into Editions Mego a most unexpected release appeared amongst the radical roster. Out of all the twisted hard drive activity from PITA, General Magic, Farmers Manual etc appeared a very different kind of release. One made from a computer, but one with a softer atmosphere, cloud-like in sonic shape and even containing discernible melodies (!). This was the debut release from Japanese artist Tujiko Noriko which not only launched her career to a larger audience but opened the doors of Editions Mego to a broader range of experimental musical forms.

Noriko’s particular synthesis of electronic abstraction, melody, voice and atmosphere has few peers as sound gently circles her mystical words morphing into a succession of emotive aural experiments framed as songs.

Noriko’s evolution since her debut Mego release has seen further solo works alongside collaborations as well as a shift into cinema, both acting and as director. 

On »Crépuscule« one can hear the influence the film medium has had on her music as visual insignia are invoked in the evocative audio at hand. Instrumental interludes further conjure a film landscape alongside the titles which also reiterate the cinematic form. 

This is synthetic music with a deep human presence. The mind of a human captured wandering the fantastic realms of the internal sphere is exquisitely rendered through machines which usually prompt one to disfigure such humanistic tendencies. The warmth, serenity and dream-like environment that Noriko conjures from her tools is what makes her such a unique and outstanding artist and »Crépuscule« is an epic testament to these powers.

The title »Crépuscule« perfectly encapsulates the somnambulant nature of the music where the nocturnal shifts evoke a broad sense of calm. »Crépuscule I« features a selection of shorter ‘songs’ whilst »Crépuscule II« allows more room for these songs / moods to breathe with only three songs running at broader longer duration. »Crépuscule« allows the listener to view the world through Noriko’s eyes. With her cunning ability to humanise machines a world of calm wonder is allowed to take focus in the frame.

Available as 2CD, digital and double-cassette. The later format by request of Noriko as it was this format she flung her debut mego demo onto Peter in Tokyo many moons ago.

This recording was obviously not planned. I had to drive at walking pace due to terrible rainfall, which allowed me to simply grab my recorder and place it on the dashboard. 

It became a recording of a very specific situation. You can hear the rain and the occasional thunderclap. In addition, you can hear the rhythm of the windshield wipers that had to work hard. The sudden silences in the recording are moments when I drove under an overpass.

three independent volumes. 

This cycle was initiated in 2014 with the 
commission of the first Vol (Vol I) by 
Brussels based Ictus ensemble, for a show 
focusing on the Ars subtilior. 

On a late afternoon in March (2022), 
accompanied by loved ones, we went to Ostia, 
to the place of the tragic end, the one 
that says everything, without saying anything, 
at the place where today stands a 
kind of stele/tombeau in memory of the 
immense visionary poet.  

As a result, Vol II and III were composed between 
September 2022 and March 2023, and premiered 
on May 2025.
These two volumes were written for an identical 
formation to the first one : 7 or 8 musicians 
and electronics.

This is a reinterpretation of the multi-channel sound installation Solo / Mute / Pan by Laurent Güdel and Olga Kokcharova, which was presented on two floors of the Centre Pasquart in autumn 2022. (find more information here: https://www.pasquart.ch/event/solo-mute-pan/) During the exhibition in Biel/Bienne, the two invited six artists (Jean-Philippe Gross, crys cole & Annette Schmucki, Caroline Profanter, Antoine Läng & Luc Müller) working at the interface between music and sound art to a residency with a concert. This method was adopted again for the edition, and this time Anita, Clara Alloing, Vincent Grimaldi and Mara Krastina were invited to create their own interpretation.

The box set comes in a pretty cardboard box and is accompanied by a text by Antonio Albanese, written as part of the project for this edition. (‘Journal de l’institut pour la recherche appliquée en êkhosémiotique post-humanisme’, 69 x 109 mm, 28pages, perfect binding).

The Red Line was a demonstration held on May 18, 2025, in The Hague. The demonstration protested the Dutch government's position on the Gaza war. According to organizers, over 100,000 demonstrators attended. A unique opportunity to capture the actual sound of this sentiment through the various chants heard that day. 
This presentation is a collage of several recordings.


De Rode Lijn was een demonstratie die op 18 mei 2025 werd gehouden in Den Haag. De demonstratie was gericht tegen de positie van het Nederlandse kabinet ten aanzien van de Gaza-oorlog. Volgens de organisatie waren er ruim 100.000 demonstranten aanwezig. Een bijzonder moment om het specifieke geluid van dit actuele sentiment vast te leggen met de verschillende leuzen.
Deze presentatie is een collage van een aantal opnames.
