A personal rework of one of my favorite classics ever, New Order's Blue Monday. 
I had mixed feelings the first time I heard it in some club. These dribbling bass drums were kind of weird to me. I couldn't really understand why people were mad when they recognized the track. Then, when I left, I realized the only melodies that were still around in my head were those of this pure classic. I started to listen to it and couldn't help but put it on hard rotation at home and in my studio. I became obsessed with it and even wanted to own the same hardware that was used to produce it (a few days later, I bought an Oberheim DX from some guy who claimed he signed with Virgin Records on the same day as Daft Punk). 
The original multitracks sessions are publicly available so I had to do something...so here we are. I wanted to give the track a more modern & Italo direction, while trying to respect the original vibe. 
Hope you'll enjoy it & spin it in front of passionate crowds. 
The artwork is a tribute to John Carpenter's Christine (1983), which was released a few months later.

Zaratustra returns to Feinstoff with a pounding alteration of Front 242's Headhunter. The Paris-based DJ/Producer thrives in Indie Dance and Dark Disco genres. Lately, with his latest "White Magic" EP on Ulla Records and releases to come on the Parisian label Skylax Records, he has been blending rock instruments with electronic rhythms, focusing on 80s-like vocals and electric guitars. Other releases are expected on indie dance labels such as Quixotical Records, Mélopée Records, Nubians of Plutonia, Club Mackan … As a DJ, he likes to take the audience on a dark and mysterious journey. 

The present edit is Zaratustra’s take on his favourite band: the EBM lords Front 242. The track is a tribute to 80s music, with a filthy bassline, powerful guitar and old-school synths!

Now you know our mojo : to explore that 80s inspired, wonky disco sound, in all its shapes and forms ! Maybe many of you don't know that my region Emilia-Romagna, Italy, was hit by terrible floods that destroyed lives, houses, changed landscapes and produced billions of damages. What can I do as a musician to give my (little) help in this tragedy? Well, make music. I decided then to put on Bandcamp some edits I made to send all proceeds in charity for my region, starting with this one I did of 'Robotiko Rejekto'.
