Hey Folks…. Hope all is well wherever you are. In that relative sense of the world being as it is right now. A cold Spring here so far. A little snow, freezing temps, but that will change soon with the new heat dome dropping down upon us from the north. So instead of composing songs, I have been outside quite a bit these past few weeks… I tilled and began planting the vegetable garden. Snow and sugar snap peas are germinating. I planted 3 varieties of lettuce plants from seed I grew and saved from the past few years. If you don’t know… Lettuce ‘goes to seed’ when the plant ‘bolts’ by sending up a 3 foot flower stalk, which looks pretty cool. I usually let some lettuce bolt each year. A while back, I used to market about 300 heads of lettuce a year, but now just grow 50 or so heads for salad. That’s a lot of salad…. I also planted leeks from seed plants I grew last year, after letting the leeks overwinter. I was dreaming about potato-leek soup, when I first planted leeks, and well, the dream was better than the soup. The garlic patch is up, from last autumn’s planting. I call the patch ‘The Garlic Monster’, as it has grown in size over the years, the unruly beast that it is. There were some overwintered Swiss chard plants that I dug up and transplanted to a side spot in the garden, hoping to get some seeds this year from those plants. Beets, carrots and rutabagas have not germinated yet. (It’s been cold.) I dug up 3 large rhubarb plants I grew from seed that I collected, and moved them to a new bed as the spot they were in was a spur of the moment decision that wasn’t working. I do harvest and prepare rhubarb each year, but it is definitely an acquired taste, so I tend to compost some of what I pick. (Most of it…haha.) I transplanted 2 aspens and a pie cherry sapling that grew up too close to the house. The main aspen and cherry trees are easily 10 yards away from where the saplings were. I am always amazed at how tree roots grow in search of water, this time for dripping water off the house. That phenomenon is called Hydrotropism. I moved the saplings to an open area of the yard where I hope they will sprout many more trees to create a mini grove. OK… that’s enough gardening stories for now…. Don’t you think? I need some for the next song… hahaha. So with the colder mornings, I have been recording songs every other day or so. I had 3 songs recorded and well and they were all sketchy/wonky in parts. One, a true story, was about this dude threatening me with a handgun. (That song was way too political)… another was a sobby, tear-jerker of a lament, OMG… sure I felt that way, but seriously dude? The third was a loud and dissonant slide song, which happens when I need to burn off some negative energy. I was bummed after listening to all of them, so I did this song, as a last ditch effort to salvage my musical dignity. Ha! So let me know what you think… Thanks.    I came up with a completely different melody and arrangement. I shared it with Moza, and he recorded vocals for it. Feeling that this relatively grand song lacked something, I thought of incorporating rap. I had been impressed with Lemon Muzik's work as a track maker, so I invited him to join as a rapper. I really like his rap. Additionally, he provided backing vocals for the chorus part. 

This is a Christmas present from the three of us. Merry Christmas.

A small note on my own behalf: I have noticed that my playback figures have dropped dramatically. The statistics show that the number of playbacks has dropped from 2000 per week to just under 200.
On the one hand, this is frustrating, as everyone sees this as an indicator and confirmation of their work. On the other hand, figures are not particularly important, but one wonders what is wrong. In my opinion, SC has changed a lot, uploading tracks has become more complicated and constant security queries are annoying.
In addition, great artists are disappearing from the platform, partly by their own choice, partly because they have been banned, the algorithm has “recognized” them as spam and mercilessly deleted their account. I'm still a paying member, but my attitude towards this has changed...

Please let me know your experiences and impressions.

A long, long time ago, there was an organ in the Christmas-decorated living room in his parents' house, where Frank grew up. Originally bought by his father for his two older siblings, they showed no interest in playing the organ. Frank, however, did. White and black keys and giving off strange sounds. 

So at the age of 9 he began to let his fingers circle on this instrument, searching for the right keys like on a typewriter. And another 9 years would pass before he could buy his first own instrument. Already at the age of 13 he made notes about the then current synthesizers, bought one magazine after the other and visited music fairs in Frankfurt, Germany.

His first keyboard was the Yamaha DSR-2000, which he bought in a music store near his hometown Biebertal. In installments! Finally he could develop himself further - away from the limited tonality of the small organ. The built-in 8-track sequencer helped him to reach unimagined heights. 
Little by little his equipment expanded and his ambition to create music like that of Jean-Michel Jarres came closer. Influenced by this and countless other musicians of the time, his interest grew, but he taught himself everything. Not even having attended a music school or being able to read music at all, he wrote one song after another and recorded them on the only medium available to him at the time: audio cassettes.
Many of these recordings are unfortunately lost forever, because cassettes are and were not the best recording medium. He has to try to play many of his songs from memory. 

In 2007, he fulfilled a long-awaited wish: to buy a KORG. He had always wanted to own one, but with the latest synthesizers at the time of their release having a purchase price of over 6000 D-marks (the currency of the time in the 1980s and 1990s), that dream of owning one was far away. So in 2007 he bought a used KORG 01W/FD at ebay. And as before with the purchase of the Yamaha keyboard, a completely new world opened up to him.

In addition, there were expanders and sound modules from Kawai, Roland and Yamaha (K1m, SC-55, QY10). Six years later his enthusiasm for making music ebbed and rediscovered his hobby (which it always was and still is). In 2018 in April he decided to present his music to a wider audience and uploaded his first song on the platform soundcloud. Since that time, thanks also to the ever-evolving software, he continues to evolve, experiment and relive his times through music.
