DJ Flavya - Le Figlie dei Faraoni

Flavya is an independent DJ, music producer and ethnomusicologist with Brazilian-American nationality. She is now connecting the alternative music scenes of New York City (USA) and São Paulo (BR) more than ever, helped by her family roots in both countries. 
In 2009, she started her journey as a DJ.
FlavYa's unique and eclectic style combines traditional brazilian & latin folkloric sounds with electro hip-hop beats; born in Europe, raised in both the United States and Brazil, Flavya is no stranger to multicultural experiences, living in diverse neighborhoods and being exposed to many different music communities.
In her musical career, Flavya has performed at several festivals and parties in Brazil and the United States; in 2019 she released her single “Vamos” together with Cuban bassist Aniel Somellian, the project in partnership with Latam magazine. She has released official remixes of the songs “Não vou descansar” by Francisco el Hombre, “Mil Vidas” by Bixiga 70, “Racha a Canela” by Braza, “Los Animales” by Corina Lawrence and “Se Apaga” by Gui Hargreaves. She produced the original single “Encarar” with Lurdez da Luz also.

Flavya è una DJ indipendente, produttrice musicale ed etnomusicologa con doppia nazionalità, Brasiliana e Statunitense. Adesso più che mai, e con l’aiuto della sua famiglia radicata in entrambi paesi, sta connettendo la scena musicale alternative di New York (USA) con quella di San Paolo (BR).
Nel 2009 ha intrapreso il suo percorso da DJ.
Lo stile unico ed eclettico di Flavya combina le sonorità tradizionali Brasiliane e il folclore latino con beats electro hip-hop; nata in Europa, cresciuta tra Stati Uniti e Brasile, Flavya non è estranea a esperienze culturali essendo esposta a molte comunità musicali differenti.
Nella sua carriera musicale Flavya ha performato a svariati festival e serate tra Brasile e Stati Uniti; nel 2019 ha prodotto il suo primo singolo “Vamos” insieme al bassista Cubano Aniel Somellian, un progetto in partenariato con la rivista Latam. Ha prodotto remix ufficiali delle canzoni “Não vou descansar” di Francisco el Hombre, “Mil Vidas” di Bixiga 70, “Racha a Canela” di Braza, “Los Animales” di Corina Lawrence e “Se Apaga” di Gui Hargreaves. The Frohlocker have accrued from a periodical club session of the same name, which was brought to life in Kaiserslautern (Germany) in early 2006. By mixing a wide variety of groovy, breaky musical styles, they didn’t take much time to capture a key position among the local party culture. From the outset, the excellent team play behind the turntables has been complemented by intense studio works, which in turn are regularly tested on the dancefloor. Frohlocker’s own produce reflect the wide variety of influences and breach gridlocked genres. Their well reputated remixes for The Juju Orchestra, The Bahama Soul Club, DJ Farrapo and Dj ClicK and three own maxi releases on Galopp Records brought some attention from all around the globe.

The masterminds behind Frohlocker are Wanja Sälzer and Gabriel Zahn. During the last ten years Wanja Saelzer gained DJing experience in countless localities, beginning with Broken Beat, Big Beat and Trip-Hop. Now as part of Frohlocker, this pays off especially regarding the question whether a tune works out on the dancefloor. From his early days on, Gabriel Zahn enjoyed a musical breeding and is producing music for more than a decade now. Based on experiences in Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop and film score, as part of Frohlocker he is focusing on dance music in the broader sense.
