Its been more than six months since I’ve had the last chance to play some music in front of a crowd. I tried to put all of my hope, my love & dedication as well as my anger into this DJ mix. This journey reflects what I would be playing in the morning hours at a club such as KaterBlau and some melancholic-melodic moments to just make you fly away. Grammy nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Steven Weston was brought up in Portsmouth, learning to play the organ as a kid, but an early obsession with electronic music soon had him trading it in for a set of turntables. At 18, he left for Spain, where he became a resident DJ on the Murcia coast. 

He’s been on the move ever since, touring the world playing keyboard for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko and UNKLE. He was also the first and lead bass player in The KLE side project Badger Kull and cut his teeth as an engineer at Metropolis and Strongroom studios in London, working many years with the bands Chronixx & Rudimental at their studio Major Toms in Hoxton.

His inaugural dance music release came in early 2021 with a remix of Catch Me When I Fall from the Ronin I mixtape, which saw great support from John Digweed. 

After launching his own imprint Blank Dust with two EPs, he went on to release on Sasha’s celebrated Last Night On Earth with ‘Liquid followed by his Anjunadeep debut March 31st with the first single from his forthcoming After the Flow EP, entitled ‘Like I Used To’, featuring vocals from British singer-songwriter Låpsley.

Possibly THE most powerful factor of Burning Man is that we all get covered with the same dust and the same great challenges to truly BE present. Black Rock City and her elements are bigger than any of us, ALL OF US, and she has something to show you.  It is not until you're stripped away from your comfort and 'normalcy' that we become truly one.  Infusion of music and the many sacred spaces connect us. Suddenly, all that was designed to make us feel divided comes crashing down; blurred into total insignificance, as the moments grow increasingly PURE and RAW, give us unlimited POTENTIAL.  

This same wakeup call is happening for all of humanity to see and feel right now, as our Earth attempts to mend, and show us how delicate and singular we truly are as a human race.

We encourage you to use this time wisely and keep the vibrations high and the music loud.  Now, we are together more than ever, despite our physical distance. Allow yourself to reprogram to your fullest potential; resist programming.  Take notice of the air and the water clearing up all around you. Madota is the musical lovechild of urban shepherds Behnam & Mehran. Iranian by birth, Canadian by upbringing, these two have come a long way from their own journeys before reuniting in Berlin.

What we know is that their deeply rooted love for electronic music led them to storm Vancouver's nightlife as DJs since 2011 which in turn prepared them to start their experimentation with making music that pulls influences from their hyphenated backgrounds. Their music captures their subtle lust for colorful and organic sounds coupled with their itch for darker forward-leaning grooves.

Their music has already taken them to perform numerous times in legendary gatherings such as Katerblau in Berlin, ZERO in NYC, Acidcase in Berlin and Woomoon in Ibiza. They continue to nurture their lovechild in Berlin with releases on labels such as Get Physical, Kindisch and Kiosk I.D.
