Father Funk is on a mission to reinvent funk for the bass generation. His genre-bending, boundary-breaking style fuses the soul of live music with the power of modern bass, taking him from underground bootlegs to festival main stages across the globe. With his self-produced, self-released album Funk The System on the horizon, he’s proving you don’t need a label or a formula to make music that truly moves people.

Dubplates, originals, specials, bootlegs… whatever you wanna call them. Phroh’s got plenty! He prides himself on playing a good number of totally un heard original music in all his sets.

Since the year 2000 DJ Phroh has been hard at work smashing dancefloors in his home town of Whistler British Columbia. A DJ, a producer, a turnta​blist, and most importantly a lover of music. He is notorious for his jaw dropping sets at the infamous “Whistler Full Moon Parties” where he scratches over his bass heavy, home grown, original dubplates of jungle, drum & bass and dubstep. A regular in the Canadian DnB Scene, he has been seen mashing up the dance at clubs all over the Canada from Montreal to Toronto to Vancouver and Victoria then all the way to Euroope where he did a UK summer tour playing festivals and clubs all over England. He is especially well known at his residency at the famous “Whistler Junglists” nights @ Whistler’s best nightclub, Tommy Africas.


Born in Canada and having grown up in the DnB epicenter of Toronto, Phroh studied very early on in his life the aspects of what makes a dancefloor go off by attending massive legendary parties by the likes of Delerium, Syrous, Destiny, Big Bud, Madness, and many others in the mid 90’s accumu​lating knowledge of how to throw a dope show and just what it takes to erupt a dancefloor into a frenzy with your music. This led him to persue his passion for dance music with DJ and producers such as Hype, Kenny Ken, Marcus Visionary, LTJ Bukem, CRAZE and Freaky Flow serving as early influences.


From this Phroh formulated his campaign on the worldwide bass music industry. First by becoming an affluent turntablist rocking the wheels of steel every night mastering his scratch style, complete with body tricks, and mixing prowess. Next he started his Whistler production company for jungle, drum & bass and dubstep entitled “Whistler Junglists” with which he hosts some of the biggest bass heavy shows in the famous ski resort party town of Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. At these shows he’s played along side the likes of dnb legends like Spor, Aphrodite, Concord Dawn, Netsky, S.P.Y Jacky Murdah, DrumSound & Bassline Smith and many more. Meanwhile he proceeded to hone his music production skills writing a 10 track full length album as well as many singles remixes and bootlegs all available as free downloads.


It doesn’t stop there, Phroh is known as being a stylalistic “Mix Tape” DJ and provides regular series of mixes encompasing the different styles he portrays. “Super Happy Fun Uplifting Summer Vibez” series is for showcasing those big shiny summer anthems. “Snowshine” series is all cutting edge liquid DnB. “Dubwise Nah Dead” series is all his fravorite Jungle and Ragga tracks. “Reggae Night” series is all about the roots and culture of reggae music. And lastly “PhroHaus” series explores his more funky four on the floor grooves.

Hey Music Lovers! Headstash Music is curated by a fiendish music researcher and obsessed archivist, with a strong bias towards new forms of music, hybrid sounds and obscure rarities. I estimate I've categorized close to 20,000 tracks so far, spread over a couple dozen playlists. Unless you listen to a lot of modern music, some of the more traditional sounding playlists like Jazz, Latin, Middle Eastern and Classical might not be what you expect. The main elements that set it apart would be the emergence of electronica, and the fearless cross-pollination of genres that todays artists are breaking ground with.
