VIVI. S
"Vivien Flavia Maria Sorrentino is an interdisciplinary artist and designer from Berlin, currently studying in Weimar. In her design and artistic practice, she focuses on the translation and materialization of progressive (typo-)graphic forms, pursuing conceptual, experimental, and material-based approaches. Her most recent work involves the critical analysis of the romanticization and institutionalization of cultural (transitional) rites, and the empowering appropriation and reinterpretation of these. She examines Western wedding traditions, such as the white wedding, and the role of the bride within them. As a historical parament anchored in Christian ceremonies, the medium of wax expresses transformation, transition, and change."

"Currents is a 20-minute looping video piece accompanying a live DJ set by LDS, created for the collectives X hoch X and Augmented Research. The piece plunges viewers into a continuous visual journey through a dreamlike, subaquatic world—where the viewer drifts seamlessly from one aquarium to another.
Integrating AI-driven video and image generation techniques, the artist stitches together long sequences of filmed underwater footage with algorithmically generated transitions. The result is a meditative sequence of submerged environments—green-tinged algae tanks, murky aquatic chamber vistas, and fish-filled expanses—blurring the boundary between the real and the artificial.
The work eschews traditional narrative structures and hard cuts in favour of continuous, fluid transitions. These flowing narrative structure echo the transient nature of water itself and point to new possibilities for storytelling—ambient, immersive and in constant transformation. Through this fluid choreography of visuals, Currents proposes an alternative mode of guiding audience attention: not through directive edits, but through suggestion, motion, and atmosphere. 
This piece reflects the artist's ongoing exploration of how AI can be used not just as a generative tool, but as a method for rethinking narrative continuity, perceptual immersion, and the construction of visual rhythm."
