self-titled is a music magazine that has nothing to do with music. At least not in the traditional sense of self-important ‘criticism’ and profiles that read like regurgitated press releases. Yes, we print reviews and thought-provoking features, but we also pride ourselves on answering the questions others don’t ask. WhereIsFenix is a DJ, producer and curator charting a bold path through new sound worlds. Hailing from Queens, NYC and shaped by the vibrant, diverse New York underground, he’s known for an ever-evolving creative approach and an innate ability to spark connection on the club floor.


Currently based in Milan, the name WhereIsFenix reflects an artist who thrives on movement – always shifting, never staying in one place too long. His sound is rooted in raw, percussive energy and storytelling through emotion, deftly bypassing genre boundaries in favour of a global palette cultivated from years of travel, crate-digging, and immersion in different scenes. From gritty after-hours parties on 9 Mile in Detroit, to club closing sets at Circus in Tokyo and dynamic open-air raves in Berlin, his intuitive sets flow through moods and textures rather than genre tags. His productions echo that same sense of motion, vitality and unpredictability. 


A respected collaborator, remixer, club-weapon edit specialist, and a creator whose studio work bears a singular, charismatic touch, WhereIsFenix has built a presence that's grounded in community, unity and authenticity. With a long-awaited debut album on the horizon, his WhereAmI? mix series journey expanding in magnetic new directions, and the maverick spontaneity of his upcoming all-vinyl mix series (title withheld), he's poised to reveal an innovative next chapter. Red Light Radio was an online radio station and international music platform based in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. From 2010-2020 RLR  broadcasted daily shows of local and international artists. Enjoy all great music!

Matt Walsh’s inter­est in DJing and pro­duc­tion was fos­tered in the late 1990′s, while he was at uni­ver­si­ty and pro­gres­sive house was at its peak. Fast-for­ward a cou­ple of years, a new decade her­ald­ed the birth of Elec­tro­clash and with it DJ Hell’s Gigo­lo Records, City Rock­ers and Play­house. As Matt began to devel­op his trade­mark sound of mod­ern dis­co-infused elec­tron­ic house and tech­no, an offer of a res­i­den­cy at East London’s sem­i­nal T‑Bar club set off a chain of events that would lead to Tur­bo Record­ings don Tiga spot­ting him there in 2007. He then became a long term res­i­dent of Bugged Out! and Tur­bo and has since toured the globe alone and with oth­er artists.

Matt’s record label, Cloud­ed Vision Record­ings has seen releas­es from tal­ent from all cor­ners, includ­ing Red Axes, long term friend Daniel Avery and many more. His two mixed com­pi­la­tions “The Cloud­ed Vision Exper­i­ment” received crit­i­cal acclaim from Mix­mag, GQ and DJ Mag.

Since relo­cat­ing to Mar­gate in 2017, Matt has been busy opening The Tap Room and has trans­formed one of Margate’s secret spots into a boom­ing small bar, where you can expect to see local and trav­el­ling DJs play­ing every week, as well as a great mix of cock­tails and craft beer.



In 2023 Matt reignited his old clubnight "Movement" which was originally formed with Daniel Avery back in 2011. The new version is held quarterly at Faith In Strangers, Margate and the first three sold out parties have seen Erol Alkan, Daniel Avery , Optimo and Richard Fearless join Matt on the decks for the night. August will welcome Manfredas to Margate for the first time and some very exciting collaborations are to follow in 2025.
