Efkarpia Free Gathering [2005:23 @SKG]

I turned 30 the 09/09/22 and was heading to one of the best summer gathering, Sarcus Festival.
I played the day after surrounded by many friends & artists I like. 

I prepared this set for almost 2 months because I wanted it to be like a retrospective of the path I walked in electronic music during the past 13 years. 
I tried to include as much tracks of the different styles I grew up with with the things I discovered at that time that I really felt like playing at a 6-9pm slot.
A couple of months after the festival, the file I was sent was corrupted, with just a little click at the beginning. One of my USB sticks was near the end so the history folder was messy and I tried to remember my set as I played it. Since I prepared almost 75% of it, it was quite easy.

I recorded it nearly 6 months after this moment on a sunny morning, and I'm happy to finally sharing it with the world.

You'll find in here loads of lazers, zaps, wizzes, noises and probably an unreasonable use of DJM's dub echo.

Big shout out to the Sarcus Team and to all people who made this journey go the way it went.

Plasmeed is a new musical project born in 2023 on the shores of Lake Geneva. After many years away from production, the post-pandemic environment has given them a new creative lease of life, of which this EP is one of the first to bear witness. 

Like Plasmeed’s music, this EP claims to be a chaotic blend of genres, which are intended to be perceived as different sides of the same object.
It’s a wind-swept picture, with simple Ambiant Music breezes and more straightforward bass gusts. All mingling with the melancholy and darkness of cigarettes, whose ashes were the soil on which this work was built.

Our debut project has arrived; a CD with contributions from L'Uzure, Production Unit Xero, Solatz, Ena, gi, Matter, Dina Rocaille, and Khimeîra. 

This curated primer presents raspy layered textures, windy tonal ephemera, and rapturous melodic outbursts to demarcate “outsider” electronic music as the label’s clear focus. Not intended as a collection of songs but as a singular listen, the CD is pockmarked by dirty sediment, subdued motifs and abstracted musical strucutres - avoiding neat or direct story-telling. Instead, nauseating polyrhythms stretch together a wide pastiche of styles; abstract ideas repeat themselves into shape; and far-reaching horizons converge into a hazy, electric cloud of energy. 

Despite broad influences and stylistic impressions, the music remains cyclic - always coming back to a shared cadence, an overlapping feeling that's urgent and tense but never overstating the obvious.

Oscillating between IDM, Hybrid Jungle and Half-Time, E-VAAT is an immersion in a free and spontaneous gesture. Thought of as bedside music, with this EP Lovesurgr builds his own bridges between the intimacy of introspective listening and the tension of an attentive dancefloor.
