Communities possess undeniable power to foster a sense of camaraderie and mutual support, and furthermore, this power can be harnessed to affect change on a broader scale. In the realm of music, it would be a miss not to acknowledge the robust and innovative music scene in Kyiv. Ukrainian artist Vera Logdanidi is one of the driving forces behind the local community, as a member of the Rhythm Buro collective, which organizes an unconventional festival and warehouse parties with a devoted following. Additionally, Vera oversees Kashtan, a communal channel and label. As a DJ, Vera's distinctive style is rooted in a diverse range of influences, as you can listen in our podcast. We had the opportunity to speak with Vera about her latest track release on Onboard Records, the Ukrainian community, and the art of DJing.

This week guest on CBDSH series is Na Nich from Ukraine with absolutely stunning mix! Na Nich is the purveyor of deep rhythms and atmospheres, both in the studio and dj booth. Drop everything else for the next 77 minutes and join the trip with us.

Bio:
Born in Dnipro, Alexander started his musical journey in the late 1990s and quickly made a name for himself under the moniker "Sunchase" with a series of successful releases in the drum & bass scene. He was featured on prominent imprints like Moving Shadow, Metalheadz, Hospital, and others.
After moving to Kyiv, Alexander expanded his musical repertoire and added new genres to his style, which deepened his sound while maintaining its cutting-edge quality. During this time, he founded the labels Kvadrat and 22:22, and became a founding member of Rhythm Büro, a techno initiative in Kyiv that brings together the genre's most innovative minds to various unique locations across the city.
Rhythm Büro has since become well-known both in Ukraine and internationally, not only as an event brand, but also as a musical imprint that features some of Alexander's works under the newly established alias "Na Nich".
As a sought-after techno and breakbeat producer, Alexander is now a highly accomplished mastering engineer with a solid portfolio of impressive releases and projects. His music has reached beyond dance floors and music collections, with some of his tracks appearing in games by Rockstar Games and Sony Computer Entertainment.
Today, Alexander focuses on his solo live sets, as well as live performances with his wife Vera Logdanidi, which range from techno to house. He has performed at venues such as Bassiani, Brave Factory, Natura, Closer, and others, and has been featured on Svreca's Semantica Records and Oblique Music NL.
Regardless of the genre, Alexander's music is characterized by his signature groove and engineering perfection, and he remains forward-thinking in his approach.

Peshka is a producer and dj from Mariupol. He is the founder of the  @unformsound collective and a resident of the Strela booking agency. Easily switching between house, techno, and electro, Peshka, with his five years of experience, has released music on labels such as Visionquest, Amam, BanoffeePies, and Alien Recordings.

The series is updated on a weekly basis with recordings of sets that have been played in our space since the beginning of the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Raavel about the mix:

This mix is the exact opposite of what I play, but at the same time it's a clear reflection on what I'm experiencing. It's not about dancing, but about emotions and something deeper. In my present, as in the present of many of us, there is an unstable emotional state intertwined between sadness and joys, fear of losing the good life and vice versa — motivation to work hard for a better future.

Starting the mix with nostalgia and ending with a lively rhythm, each track is presented as a different day of life, reminding us that accepting sadness and anxiety is part of being human. Don't keep your emotions inside, give them freedom, it will save your psyche, but then pick yourself up off the floor and follow your goals.

Raavel is a Ukrainian DJ and producer who has been released on the Juicy Gang Records label by German producer @djmellg, Ukrainian Mystictrax, and his track Wakalaka was included in the Helena Hauff compilation by London-based fabric Records.

Luigi Tozzi is an Italian DJ, live act and producer known for his atmospheric and immersive performances. 
He is an adroit manipulator of sounds, reflected in his productions that fall into the deeper, atmospheric areas of electronic music. They are impactful without applying force, evoking a cocoon-like sento in its listeners. 
Tozzi found his artistic home on labels like the Swedish Hypnus Records or Non-Series, where he regularly releases. 
Since his first release on Hypnus in 2014, he contributed numerous times to their catalogue and label showcases. 
His major project on the label is the "Deep Blue" album trilogy released in 2014, 2016, and 2021. 
It draws inspiration from a profound fascination with the oceanic world, a recurring theme in both Tozzi’s life and work. 
In 2023, an especially adapted ambient version of “Deep Blue” premiered in London. Tozzi's releases on Non-Series, like “Tender is the Night” (2019), “Almost Blue” (2021), and “Spiral” (2023), emphasize distinct sound elements and focus on techno with a minimalist aesthetic.

Furthermore, he contributed to a variety of labels like Mental Modern, OUTIS Music and Calipso.

Besides his work as a Live Act, DJ, and producer, Tozzi is involved in sound designs for art and film projects and is known for collaborations with other musicians and artists.

Jonas aka Kontinum, who grew up in the far north of Germany, moved to Leipzig after 20 years of wind and rain. There he was quickly inspired by the prevailing sounds of the @institut-fuer-zukunft and finally started the Kontinum project in 2016 with a focus on atmospheric and dissociative Techno. Over the years, the palette of sounds grew and now ranges from ambient to deep techno to contemporary club-oriented techno. 
In 2017, he founded the @nebulakollektiv with a couple of friends and started hosting the first illegal events. In the course of time, Nebula has also found its way into the Leipzig club scene and is now an integral part of it.
2022 up to 2024 he held a residency at Institut fuer Zukunft and he still co-host of the infamous Aequalis events after the closure of IFZ.
Over the years, Jonas has continued to develop and perfect his own sound pivoting from
conventional techno towards more genre-fluid styles.

"Save Your Atoll" is a project started in 2019 by Italian artist Antonello Meloni from Sardinia, focusing on deep sound and techno with ambient and atmospheric elements enriched by groove-driven storytelling. After a year of podcasts, he began releasing original productions in 2020, including singles and EPs influenced by artists like Burial. He has released music on international labels such as Fur:ther Sessions, Oslated, and Dosis Records, and performed as a resident DJ. Prominent underground artists support his work and continues to evolve with new releases and remixes through 2024/25.
