Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.

Inspired by the cinematic atmosphere, abstract dark, sometimes with deep percussion, or vice versa - melodically light, Igor brings something interesting and extraordinary to his vision of music.
Thanks to this, his music is reflected on the dance floor in the playlists of artists such as: Toto Chiavetta, Dixon, Ame, Mano Le Tough, Frankey & Sandrino, Trikk and many others.

Ransom Note is an online music, arts and culture magazine. We provide a home for readers and writers with boundless enthusiasm, esoteric knowledge, fierce opinions and impeccable taste.

With our core team immersed in all aspects of dance music, we publish news, articles, and interviews covering the greatest in innovative, underground culture from across the globe. We offer regular, exclusive music and mixtapes from our favourite artists, and publish features shining a light on everything from the freshest new artists to the untold tales from rave history.

Alongside this we offer musings on film, books, life, and art, generating some context and controversy as an antidote to the reheated PR that clogs up the internet. Our office is fuelled by Tunnock’s Bars, cat memes, hangovers and a ridiculous, never ending love for our culture.

The Why people dance question was asked for the first time in Lithuania back in 2013 but it gained a worldwide echo in its 8 years of existence. Run by @pauliuskamblevicius with the help of @experimentsserial and a network of collaborators, the online electronic music platform and label keeps its heart open for new friends and treasure finds but its filter tight and deep underground. Pampa Records is a independent record label dedicated to releasing music that's seriously danceable without recourse to the tried and tested ingredients. ABOUT
Austrian-based producer and DJ Severin Su’s career reflects a transdisciplinary approach, shaped by a versatile background and a deep passion for collaboration.

His musical journey began in Banja Luka, Bosnia, where he received a classical music education at a regional music school, honing his piano and vocal skills. 
At the same time, he worked in his father's recording studio, refining his expertise in complex compositions and experimenting with live instruments and vocals. 
This early experience led to the release of two highly successful pop albums and hundreds of live performances over the years.

In 2015, Severin transitioned into electronic music, releasing tracks on various labels. 
His music quickly climbed the charts and gained support from industry titans such as Tale Of Us, WhoMadeWho, Pete Tong, and Kölsch, among others.
In 2024, Severin released the collaborative track Let Me See You on the Super Flu's Monaberry label. 


Beyond club music, Severin’s compositions extend into sound design and contemporary music projects. His work has been showcased at prestigious venues such as the 15th International Architecture Biennale in Venice and Architektur Galerie Berlin.
He also co-composed and performed Opera Scultura, a groundbreaking fusion of opera, electronic music, and sculptural art, which received critical acclaim, including coverage in Germany’s Zeit magazine.

Severin continues to push creative boundaries, blending genres and artistic disciplines while shaping his evolving sound.
