Hello Everyone! It's Wednesday, time to strap yourselves in for another Exclusive PFG Progcast. The afterburners are lit, set your phasers to FUN... ready for another blast around Planet Prog!

This week were headed for love in London! Home to a multi talented heroine of house music, our act today has made music her life and passion. Singer/Songwriter, Producer, Performing Arts and DJ! We are delighted to have secured her services, give it up for Ann LoV

Ann LoV is a London based techno producer DJ and singer. Her primary focus are poignant melodies as demonstrated in her track selection, and forthcoming productions. Ann has a strong background in vocals and has released under the names 'Ann Browne' & 'Ann - Jattu' on Synchronized Music, DP-6 Records and Tall House Digital. 

Ann developed a passion and deep love for music early on in life. At the age of 9 she began to write her own songs and learnt to craft harmonies by experimenting with recording her voice using tape recorders and layering her vocals to see how they’d sound. In 1999 Ann decided to take a deeper dive into music and went on to study performing arts, during which time she spent much of her evenings in the music block learning production and writing her EP — a collection of Pop, R&B, and Ambient music. Off the back of her creations, she took part in a number of local festivals and showcases and later joined a Hip Hop collective where she continued to develop her vocals and song writing skills. Then in 2001 she had her first release on a gospel record label, which led to her joining a band where she continued to tour nationally and internationally as well as provide vocals for studio and live sessions.

It was in 2009 that her musical career pivoted towards electronic music, and at that point she began reaching out to music producers in the genre. This led to her creating a vocal sample pack with Lee Howe, house releases with Jake Cusack and Paul Parsons, EDM with K-System, and trance releases with Beatsole and Emrah Barut.

In a bid to further immerse herself in the electronic music world she had grown so fond of, she began to form connections with music lovers, organised club nights with UK Trance Society, managed a number of meetups, and attended myriad music events.

By 2016 Ann had started to miss the live element of music and wanted to perform electronic music live which led to the birth of “Anencee". Performing live once again and delving back into the world of music creation inspired her to make the decision to return to music production as a solo artist, it was then that she added the art of DJing to her repertoire. 
 
In 2019 Ann secured a DJ residency at the illustrious Saturo Sounds Radio, she shortly after appeared as a guest on Christian Monique's  'Seventeen' show [Frisky Radio] and also Erich Von Kollar's show 'Relations' [Proton Radio)] under her former name 'With LoV'. 
 
In December 2020 'Paradox' was released on Saturo Sounds - this was her first international solo release as a producer.  
 
Passionate about fairness for music creators, she continues to develop her knowledge in the realm of music business with a view to set up her own label, release music and perform her productions live - this is her motivation, her dream, her drive, her focus. ENJOY THE MIX!

PFG The Progcast - Episode 64 - Ann LoV

Martin Sloan AKA (The Big Easy) is one of AATM founding members & also one of the longest serving DJ’s on this ever growing station. You can catch him playing marathon 10 hour shows most weekends alongside the cream of Scotlands DJ talent. Although only DJ'ing for a couple of years, Martin's rise has taken his (and anyone whose heard him play)breath away. This summer see's him make his debut for the well known MITA (Music Is The Answer)where he'll be putting those skills acquired through listening to Pappa, Sasha and Warren, to good use.

 At MITA,  he's scheduled to DJ along side the world renowned Guy J, Guy Mantzur and DJ Ruby no less. As well as that this year see’s gigs in Amsterdam, Ibiza and more in his beloved Scotland. We are half way round the world in no time at all, making a much needed return to India. So impressed were we on our previous adventures, PFG are back for more, in the first of two trips to this beautiful continent.

Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore based music producer/DJ. He has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture. His trademark chuggy grooves and squelchy rhythms are sure to satisfy his audience but there are always a few surprises along the way.

As it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for his musical expedition, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, Nathan Flake, and Worakls. Being a regular on the charts of Beatport, his music has gained continuous support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Cid Inc., Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, and many more.

He has already made a mark in the underground circuit with releases on Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Kindisch, Plattenbank, Perspectives Digital, onedotsixtwo, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Well-known blogs Progressive Astronaut, Change Underground, Underground Tel-Aviv, When We Dip, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Melodic Deep Bespoke Music, Husa Sounds have shown regular interest in his tracks.

He has also made a mark on the DJ circuit by performing at music festivals like Sunburn, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District. 
He’s had the privilege to perform alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, Ziger, Navar, Kastis Torrau. He was also nominated under the Techno category for MyFav Awards (2014-15).

PFG The Progcast - Episode 66 - Weird Sounding Dude

Hello Everyone, its time for another Exclusive PFG Progcast! Join us on our journeys around Planet Prog, searching for serious sonic sounds!

We take a trip over the Laccadive Sea today, as we head south and back to Colombo in Sri Lanka. On our last visit we were treated to a gem of a mix, and this week's return is no different. Pioneering a new wave of Underground DJ's and Artists, PFG are proud to present Shanil Alox!

Born in Colombo, Shanil Alox’s musical journey began at a very young age. His interest in music and production prompted him to learn deeper and find new genres, which resulted in the birth of his career as a young producer and DJ.
His talent and enthusiasm towards music soon began mesmerising crowds, where he gained popularity with his energetic performances across the island at many clubs, festivals and parties. His modern techniques in music inspired immense motivation in people to connect to music, aiming to take them on an emotional journey spreading positive energy throughout the community.

It was in the year 2014 that Shanil began his profession in music production,  since then he has progressively improved in music production through exploration of knowledge and mastering latest technology. His music is well known to captivate listeners who attend his performances.

He has also played gigs alongside George Privatti, Luigi Rocca, Matt Sassari, Kastis Torrau and Matan Caspi, and has collaborated and performed with renowned organisations around the island.

Shanil is a self-motivated, professional musician who endures to attempt in order to keep growing as a dynamic artist, while simultaneously expending great efforts to develop a unique style of Sri Lankan electronic music platform by incorporating tradition and his creativity. He intends to spread positive energy, peace and calmness to admirers of various genres of music.

The global electronic scene has generated a generation of Artists with identity, Alex Efe is in that category. He is a DJ/Producer in constant growth and always consolidating his recognition. His musical influences within Rock, Synth Pop & Wave have led him to create a characteristic sound, in addition to transmitting this sound in every session he plays. Its his experience and musical knowledge which the dance floor also appreciates. PFG The Progcast Episode 15 - Samuel Lamont (303/909 Resident)

This week, we've not so far to travel. The Podcast has landed back in Dublin and one of her brightest and newest talents. Resident of one of the biggest nights in the capital, and releases on ICONYC & NaturaSonis under his belt already, we're sure this man is destined for big things. PFG give it up, for Gavin Rochford!!

Sligo-born DJ and producer, Gavin Rochford has, over the last few years started to become a known contributor to the Progressive and Melodic scene with his production skills, while also pushing his DJ output in his current home of Dublin. Gavin can be found playing in clubs like Opium and Tengu with the Melodic Dublin crew, where he has become a trusted resident of their long running events and club night.
As a resident of Melodic, this has seen Gavin support some of the biggest names in melodic house, from Sebastien Leger and Matthias Meyer, to Guy J and Henry Saiz on a regular basis. This, coupled with his production skills, has seen Gavin release on labels like Sound Avenue, MNL, ICONYC and most recently, catching the eye of Henry Saiz‘ Natura Sonoris label, winning their Quarantine Demo competition and releasing a track on the label earlier this year.

The rise of electronic music must have had an influence on numerous biographies in the early 90s. The new sound in the clubs also left its mark on Sven Tasnadi. Born in 1978 in Leipzig, he is one of the figureheads of his hometown’s extremely vivid club scene. In 1995, after innumerable clubbing nights, he was curious enough to learn deejaying himself. Through acid house and Chicago house, he found his way to more minimalistic forms of house and techno. It wasn’t long before he was being booked for gigs in Leipzig clubs. Soon he also had his first gigs outside of Leipzig – for instance at the legendary Berlin Tresor.
In addition to deejaying, Sven Tasnadi was also attracted to the idea of producing his own tracks. In the beginning his equipment was still relatively modest. However, over the past years, he has managed to create a studio setup that meets his standards. In terms of musical style, the Leipzig-based artist has always kept all options open – his tracks vary from deep house, percussive-reduced tech house and soul influences to trip hop and ambient.
After several net label releases, the year 2005 marked a crucial turning point in his career. He met the renowned Leipzig-based producers and deejays Matthias Tanzmann and Daniel Stefanik. They quickly became friends, resulting in the first vinyl release on the Moon Harbour sub label Cargo Edition in 2007 – a collaboration with Daniel Stefanik. Soon afterwards his first artist EP was released, paving the way for further label contacts.
Today Sven Tasnadi is considered a firm fixture in the German clubbing culture. His tracks have appeared on EPs released by labels such as Cocoon Recordings, Smallville Records, Poker Flat Recordings, Liebe*Detail and Ornaments. Sven Väth was especially impressed by Tasnadi early on and licensed his track "Waiting For You Again" for his "Sound of Season" compilation. At the same time, he produced more than a dozen remixes for Steve Bug, Johannes Heil, Anja Schneider and others. Sven Tasnadi now has regular releases on Cargo Edition. As one of its most important artists, he has a considerable impact on the label’s sound.
The positive response to Sven Tasnadi’s productions is also reflected in his deejay calendar – the numbers of sets is increasing every year. His gigs include parties at renowned clubs, such as the Cocoon Club in Frankfurt and Plastic People in London.
In 2009 Tasnadi founded the label Oh! Yeah! together with Daniel Stefanik and Juno6. Managed on a friendship basis, this joint project once again pools the output of all three artists in a very special way. Sven Tasnadi has also developed a live set together with Juno6 that premiered at the Think! Open Air 2011 in Leipzig.

🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯

Corona turned my artist life completely upside down. Even though I still had the chance to play a few shows during the summer, the majority of my gigs got cancelled. I have no proper income since March and I’m depending on financial support from the government since a few months. It was not always easy to be creative in the studio. Mentally 2020 was a rollercoaster with a lot of ups and downs but I’ve found new inspiration and produced plenty of new music.

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

I recorded it in my studio at Holzmarkt. I mixed new tunes with older ones and added a couple of my own edits, as always. Since I’m not playing regularly anymore I really appreciated the opportunity to do a mix for you guys. It is something I always loved to do and it reminds me of my first steps as a DJ, making mix tapes for my friends.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

Since the pandemic will remain amongst us for quite a while, I do not really think about it. Even with the vaccine we will have to live with it for a long time. So when is after Corona? Autumn 2021 or even somewhen in 2022?

I definitely wish that we all get off it unscathed and healthy. Regarding my actual job I wish that the culture and event industry gets finally the right respect and support from the government and that we will be able to continue somehow after Corona. At the moment it doesn’t look promising even though there’s plenty of money to help.
