Exclusive: Kayroy - Jetty Lay

For Echocentric Records' 12th catalogue number, Internal Rhythm, label-head Timo Deeprhythms invited Australian Marmelade boy Kayroy, who delivers a diversified four tracker. "The World’s #1 superstar deejay" seems to be an equally gifted producer taking the listener on an easy ride through his sound-cosmos. While the A1 and A2, Internal Rhythm respectively Zap Saffron have a slightly proggy touch, Kayroy gives his preference for Acid-bleeps with Jetty Lay full scope and employs latter elements to create a razor-sharp (Acid)line that turns Jetty Lay into a magical space-trip into the unknown. The disco-esque appearing bass line as well as spheric pad sequences round off the homogenous sound selection from the Melbourne-based producer and provide the track a bleepy deepness.

Kayroy's EP Internal Rhythm will be released on Echocentric Records on April 22nd, 2022.

Omar Santis makes his debut on Karakul with the four track EP ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’.

Karakul is a new label focusing on deeper House cuts from around the world. First up is Chilean born Stockholm dwelling Omar Santis.

Omar first came to our attention through his records on the Woodsmen & Lady Log label, the first of which was a split 12” with Niklas Andersson which he then followed up with his own EP titled simply ‘W&LL003’ a few months later. Two fantastic records featuring his low slung, immersive House production that caught Karakul’s ears immediately.

Omar tells us ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’ is an abbreviation of ‘Ta det lugnt daa’ meaning ‘Take it easy then yeah’ and on this 12” he certainly does, in the best possible way. It’s his most soulful record to date, building upon his detailed signature sound with perfectly placed vocals on ‘Stark Champagne’, melancholic Rhodes on ‘Lulu’s Jam’, tribal percussion and pads on ‘At The Shanzai Hotel’ and finally lowering the pace altogether for the emotional ender ‘Inward’.

Another sonic experiment for your listening curiosity, Ab Und Zu drifts the liminal void between brain stimulating atmospherics and club-centric resonance. Take a kaleidoscopic trip through the off-kilter, composite sounds of London-born label newcomer Midnight Manoeuvres.

Titular track Ab Und Zu combines metallic SFX, gyrating melodies and some choice vocal cuts in a psych-tinged techno merger, while Moored strips the tempo back to chuggier pastures reminiscent of early tinkerings in trip hop and breakbeat. Then rounding out the original set, Spincycle brings a darkly satisfying arrangement of aqueous textures and hardened drones - the Autechre-esque flourish to your tumble down the rabbit hole.

After 6 years, label boss Ewan Jansen circles back to Red Ember’s main with a new EP. 
A concept journey equally for the mind and the dancefloor that strays from his house roots with themes of mysticism pushing wider rhythm palettes and creative synthesis.

The opener ‘Solanoid’ marches over the horizon; a solid progression of sun-scorched chords, goaded by some distinctive chanting synths and driving bass.
‘Caravania’ answers as a stomping IDM-esque fable, joined by bubbling rhythms on the ground and a central writhing serpentine synth guided from high above by voices unknown.   
The flip side quickly de-camps from the physical, with the organic ‘Mistik’ seeing elements of rave and tribal electronica driven by tuned kicks, sub-bass and resonant rhythms.
Lastly, a stoic tome of stone and water is left with ‘Gecko’ – a skittish chunky groove, with isolated melancholic tones that find harmony in the end.
