"Humanity", that’s the title chosen for the new original song from Barcelona-based and multifaceted artist Brunetto (first original track since his last album released in 2014 -“Sheroine” on Irregular imprint- and for the occasion featuring Bearoid’s vocals) who mixes electronica, cinematic and futuristic sounds in a soulful pop ballad. There are glimpses of innovative rhythms and his trademark deep, expansive, intricate atmospherically sound.

Rounding out the pack there are a host of incredible three phat-remixes which bring the thought-inducing sounds of Brunetto that much closer to the dancefloor.

Darlyn Vlys (aka Sylvain Soulier) has been a cornerstone of Sincopat‘s sound releasing singles and EPs on the Valencia-based label since 2010.  With the encouragement of Sincopat’s AFFKT and also with the news of Vlys about to become a father again, the former film student felt inspired to create Prince in the Rain, a twelve-track collection far more in the spirit of the Stranger Things soundtrack as opposed to anything suited for the dancefloor.  While he is currently developing a live presentation of the album, Vlys has shared the soaring, “Paradoxal” exclusively with We Are Machine ahead of the release of Prince in the Rain this Friday as it captures the album’s daring scope and cinematic flair.

Premiere: Darlyn Vlys - Learned To Hide Feat. Northern Lite

Darlyn Vlys is a solo project born in Montpellier 9 years ago, while Sylvain Soulier was studying film.

“Prince in the Rain” is his debut LP, released on @Sincopat with owner AFFKT fully involved in the project, while at the same time leaving 100% creative freedom to the author. This debut album, entitled "Prince in the Rain" was designed, a kind of incredibly well cohesive original soundtrack, written within the parameters of a sci-fi film with a good dose of realism, drama and romanticism. The French artist born in Nimes, and now residing in Valencia, Spain- and whose name is Sylvain Soulier confesses about the title "it is inspired by a reverb preset very frequently used during the album composition, and that pays tribute to one of the artists who have inspired my musical career the most: the regrettably deceased Prince. " And if we add to that, that his child, the one in the artwork, is usually called at home Petit Prince (Little Prince), the entire work connects and brings us on another, higher emotional level.

3 QUESTIONS to ARJUN VAGALE:

Q: Thanks for the great storyteller. Please tell us a bit more what these tracks meant to you in the past and what the mean to you now.

A: My pleasure. It's actually a really deep retrospect into my past as not only a DJ but an electronic music lover. Honestly it's hard to put in words how much these tracks have influenced me over the years. I have a strong emotional connection with them and remember either the first time I heard them, or the many times I've played them at clubs or chilling at home with friends. I'm also a massive vinyl lover so I made sure over the years that I have most of them on vinyl - that way they will stay with me forever. 

Q: From India to the world. How would you describe the development of electronic music in your home country?

A: Well, it's really interesting you ask that, as this mix has a bit of that history in it. Tracks like MIDIval Punditz' remix of Son Kite was a game changer when they produced it. Being good friends of mine, I was there when it was happening and that remix created a lot of buzz in India & the world at the time. Now of course the scene has developed a lot and I'm really proud of how far we have come. Indian DJ's & producers are some of the most forward thinking artists out there. 

Q: Which future projects are coming soon?

A: At the moment I'm really concentrating on my label ODD Recordings - a partnership between Ramiro & myself. We have a really interesting release lineup. I've also been in the studio a lot the last few months so I'm excited about putting out some fresh music.
