Helping me Draw the Line this week it’s  Trish Complete, who’s from London, UK. Her uplifting sound comprises a blend of House, Tech House and Techno. She’s performed at some of London’s most revered venues and her productions include ‘WTF’ which sampled the iconic Roland Clark. “This Is Techno,” a collab with Roland, and “Down Low” a collab with Charmain Love. Both of those collabs are in the mix you’re about to hear. Her new single “My Year” is out today, 2nd Sept 2022 on Toolroom Records and she’s part of Toolroom’s #wearelistening platform which encourages music by female artists.

Mohammed Bahaidrah, also known as B-Hydra, a key figure in Riyadh's techno music scene, is known for his unique blend of dark, groovy, and melodic sounds. As a co-founder of the influential event series DNA and Cosmic Waves, B-Hydra has played a vital role in bringing techno to Saudi Arabia, hosting events that showcase both local talent and international artists.
His releases with esteemed labels like Red Eclipse, Suro, and GAIN Plus have established him as a rising star, receiving support from notable figures such as Spartaque and Stoked.

He has his own successful podcast ‘The Quantum Singularity’ which includes the latest techno releases and guest mixes from mainstay DJs globally.

light gal is a rising star of London’s house and techno scene. Drawing influence from such labels as Terminal M, Drumcode, and Innervisions, as well listing DJs like Charlotte De Witte, Mha Iri and Massano as some of her many inspirations, light gal creates unique and exploratory sets ranging from dark and melodic to peak time techno. With appearances at across Ibiza, Florida as well as various venues accross London such as Ministry of Sound, Corsica Studios and Dalston Superstore, she is quickly emerging as a talent to watch.

Born in Surrey, one of her first introductions to dance music was during primary school, listening to compilations of Ibiza summer hits. She attended Reigate College, whose alumni include Disclosure and Fatboy Slim, and went on to study a Masters degree at the University of Bristol in Maths and Computer Science. It was here that her passion for the music was truly cemented, becoming a frequent visitor to legendary Bristol venues like Lakota, Motion, and Dojo Nightclub. After her studies, she moved back to Surrey, concentrating on her craft while working at the Academy of Contemporary Music.

She was first drawn to dance music through early underground dubstep from the likes of artists such as Plastician and Rusko. When the genre began to die down it opened her eyes to different sounds and styles, particularly house and techno. “The thing I love about the style of house I play is that everyone can be happy and dance along even if they don’t know the songs - it’s that sort of vibe. But with techno though, it’s the opposite. Dark, cold, industrial, yet melodic - but still stuff you can dance to!”

Light Gal kick-started her DJ career by performing in Ibiza over the Summer of 2017. During her time on the island, she performed at Ibiza Rocks and Hush nightclub, and was so well-received that she was invited back the following year. Since then, she has been busy - performing across London and establishing her own event ‘Minority Influence,’ which hopes to disprove the opinions and biases of people who consider the house and techno scene to be exclusively white and male, and looks forward to organising its next instalment soon. Between gigs, Light gal is currently curating DERILIKT Techno - a series of dark and melodic mixes, and the bi-annual Pure House Anthems, packed with UK House dance floor fillers.

Jacki-E & P-Mac are influenced by techno, deep house, jungle, dnb and the ethos of the acid house raves and festivals of the early 90's.  If you listen carefully you can hear the underlying stories which have influenced them in their preference for the darker edge of electronic dance music.
Jacki-E & P-Mac write and publish their own original tracks and re-mixes, play DJ sets in clubs, at private parties and for radio shows and podcasts .

Having been a technically gifted DJ for over a
decade, Trish began making an impact as a
Producer in 2020 via a breakout release on
renowned New York artist Roland Clark’s Delete
Records - featuring the vocals of Roland himself. Since then, Trish has gone on to unleash standout releases on several well-respected electronic imprints, including a collaboration with Roland Clark on Oliver Heldens’ esteemed Heldeep Records and a stunning debut on UK imprint Toolroom.

For all of her studio efforts, Trish has already seen an overwhelming wave of support from artists and fans. Her ever-growing list of plaudits includes plays from Mark Knight, Blasterjaxx and Ferreck Dawn, amongst others. Trish’s releases have regularly reached high-charting positions on Beatport & Traxsource, with her Spotify playlist coverage reaching over 100,000 listeners at its peak.

As a performer, Trish is a seasoned professional. No stranger to international territories, she has left her mark with emphatic sets across Europe and India, supporting Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Funkagenda, D Ramirez, Khoma, Guy J, Cosmic Gate, Lost Frequencies, wAFF and many more.

She is also a regular instalment on London’s globally adored club scene, where she frequents the likes of Ministry of Sound, Egg, Lightbox, DJ Mag’s Work Bar and countless Thames boat parties - Where she initially started.

Adding a final impressive stamp on her resume, Trish is also an integral part of the ‘We Are Listening’ campaign. A platform, event series and mentoring programme from the Toolroom Academy that aims to encourage and develop new female/non-binary talent in electronic music.

The series was founded and directed by Marie Wilhelmine Anders and was used to promote the regional scene and national and international exchange.
