Jamie Daze's energy radiates sensual funky vibes. In her youth, the deep love of music found her dancing her days away infused in the sound's that surrounded her by the likes of jazz,funk,disco and hip hop.By the age of 9 beautiful talents were discovered as she started studying piano and by age 10 the desire to feel and become music brought her to the flute.


While in her teens one night in 1994 during a visit to Los Angeles, she was introduced to the beautiful sound's and sight's of underground dance music culture (rave)just outside the city limits. This experience would forever change her life.
As a dancer, Jamie worked every dance floor through out the 90's with such passion and feeling keeping the floor alive as the house music she had fallen in love with filled the air. In 1998 she found herself dancing on MTVs afternoon dance party Global Grooves where she showed them how its done in the house music underground. 


The need to burn up the dance floor took on new strides as she purchased her first pair of turntables in 2001 while working as a professional audio sales associate for Sam Ash. Before long Jamie sought refuge behind the decks rocking the crowd as a member to the Connecticut based Dance Beatroute crew. It was during these years that the initial learning of recording and musical production started to take place. Jamie Daze had found her calling, immersing her life in her art she began to create a unique sound. 


Her ability to breathe new life into the party through her funky, house vibes and proper mixes have found her booking gigs across the United States as a sought after Dj for many of the hippest dance parties in CT, Philadelphia, NYC, LA,TX, MA, FL. She is quickly gaining a reputation for her innate ability to know what the dance floor needs, pulling from her years of music making. 


Recent times have found Jamie Daze, melting away her funky ways, into a groovy haze, working some of the freshest grooves known under the sunshine in the recording studio, belting out fresh piano licks, sultry vocals, and floor rockin rhythms. Keep your eye on this Dj/Producer as we move into the next generation of movers and shakers. Jamie Daze is house music and there's no stopping her from making you shake on the dance floor. 




Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with sub-genres including House, Tech House, Deep House, Hip House, Minimal, UKG, Breaks, as well as a small amount of Electronica.Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its twelfth year Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
