Orlando is a serious pro, having built a career as a writer, multi instrumentalist and producer in London during the '90s Soul Funk era, leading and creating with some of the finest contemporary jazz and funk musicians in Europe. I've worked them all in here, adding them to all my keyboard parts, creating some sweet soul jazz for your listening pleasure. Anyone wanna dance?  Joined here with Stringburner and Pinner on our funky original, Stay Low.  The right message for the time, with the worldwide social distancing and isolation priorities.  But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a solid groove.  This one reminds me of John Scofield's classic Uberjam.   As always, Mirko's bass is driving the bus, and Pinner just can't help himself, pushing it inside and outside and creating that infectious syncopated groove.  It's my 61st and 70th tunes with these special friends!

A little experimentation going on here with timed echos, ringshift and the like.

In the United States, habitual offender law (commonly referred to as three-strikes laws) were first implemented on March 7, 1994, and are part of the United States Justice Department's Anti-Violence Strategy. These laws require both a severe violent felony and two other previous convictions to serve a mandatory life sentence in prison. The purpose of the laws is to drastically increase the punishment of those convicted of more than two serious crimes.

Twenty-eight states have some form of a "three-strikes" law. A person accused under such laws is referred to in a few states (notably Connecticut and Kansas) as a "persistent offender", while Missouri uses the unique term "prior and persistent offender". In most jurisdictions, only crimes at the felony level qualify as serious offenses; however, misdemeanor and/or wobbler offenses can qualify for application of the three-strikes law in California, whose harsh application has been the subject of controversy.

The three-strikes law significantly increases the prison sentences of persons convicted of a felony who have been previously convicted of two or more violent crimes or serious felonies, and limits the ability of these offenders to receive a punishment other than a life sentence.

Reach For The Sky is one of those collaborations that brings it all together with great musicians and great friends.  A big project that in total was more than 1GB, this soulful original gives everyone a chance to make statements and a chance for some fine ensemble work too.  Scotland's highly versatile Annie Smart so emotionally adds her voice and harmonies, Germany's Georg Boehme is on Bari Sax on this track, and Spain's Sam Mendez plays the flute.  Both weave in and out between the vocals, and above the wonderful bass of Italy's Daniele Petrocchi.  And playing guitars is Daniele Turani, also of Italy.  Everyone's in such fine form and it all gels so beautifully.  Follow each of these great players and creators.
