Billy Preston has always been an important figure in music for me, and I asked the very fine vocalist Martin Jones to join me with his soulful singing on this 70s classic.  Billy was always one of the funkiest keyboard players out there, and was often called the 5th Beatle.   Because of Billy's superb piano, synth and organ skills, he was a top session player and toured with many musicians including Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Little Richard and Sam Cooke.  Here's our tribute to the late great Billy Preston, who wrote hits such as Space Race, Will it Go Round in Circles, Outa Space, That's the Way God Planned it and co-wrote You are So Beautiful, which Joe Cocker then made famous. Jazz/Fusion keyboard player, composer and producer.  Marketing, advertising, publishing and sales career.  Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire. I am not a musician but music plays a very important role in my creative life! I am an artist/designer and music is my companion and my muse in the long hours I spend working in my studio!
