Yemanjo’s sound is a unique fusion of downtempo and organic house beats with traditional sounds from Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The previous five years have seen Yemanjo touring the world while releasing prolifically with top labels in the genre such as Cosmic Awakenings and Cafe de Anatolia, and a full-length album for Wonderwheel Recordings dropped on May 10, 2024.

In performance, Yemanjo combines his original music with live singing in many languages, trumpet, percussion and other instruments in an electro-acoustic live set. Also providing hybrid DJ sets with live instrumentation, Yemanjo brings a refreshing sonic diversity and decades of experience as a dynamic live performer and frontman.

I have participated in several choirs, performed solos with jazz ensembles, performed solos in recitals, performed solos at events, and performed in various musical theatres and operas. Im a tenor with a vocal range of opera, soft, and falsetto B-Flat-5. Joel graduated in 2008 with a mass media communication degree and a minor in music.

Combining my corporate expertise with my love for the arts, I seek opportunities where I can contribute my organizational skills, adaptability, and creative problem-solving to the musical theater industry.
