Providence Rhode Island’s Cottaging return with the extra crispy “Headhunter b/w Mamajuana Nightcap 7”! It’s been almost a year since the release of the now sold out The Amyl Banshee E.P. The Amyl Banshee release tour saw the band convert even more contemporary music listeners with their pummeling live act and singular wild western apocalyptic style.  
The Headhunter 7” takes Amyl Banshee’s violent churn and flies it into the stratosphere. A-side “Headhunter” rides a wild saxophone riff into soaring choruses while telling the tail of the Snakecharmer and the Headhunter circling each other in a demon dance. Thanks to the amazing Rachel Lewallen for joining the band on saxophone for this banger. We're delighted to be teaming up with long-time AIH pal Gorgeous Bully as well as relative newcomers Something Anorak, for a four track split 7" due for release 26th June.

The two bands met whilst both living and playing in Cornwall in early 2011 and bonded over a shared love of boisterous lo-fi music. In the five years since, Something Anorak, consisting of cousins James and Chris Barrett, moved to Bristol; released an album on Howling Owl and split time writing music between working as a plumber and a postman. Meanwhile, Gorgeous Bully's Thomas Crang moved to Manchester and with no such restrictions on his time, has spent 5 years of unemployment ascending the stairs of bedroom-pop stardom whilst sharing a steady stream of songs that are "ugly and bummed and uncomfortable in all the right ways.

The split features two tracks from each band and is set to be released as a cherry red 7" record on June 26th.

Second full-length statement from Memphis' NOTS, Cosmetic fearlessly attacks the rough edges between desire, deceit, appearance and reality. Not chanting down Babylon, Natalie Hoffmann screams straight into its face. In this Game Of Death, Nots run through the maze of mirrors with sledgehammers. Oh, the sound of mirrors smashing. Let's smash some more.

Nots are still a wild guitar band, but above and below the guitar, bass and drum pound, Alexandra Eastburn's analog synth blurps melodies and nonsense, teasing squiggles of freedom which defy the false grid of modern life. Cosmetic? Emetic? "Monotone Lust" indeed. With Hoffmann on guitar & vocals, Eastburn on synth, Charlotte Watson beating drums, and Meredith Lones steering a solid path through the chaos on bass, Nots are neither content with the smug "stare at your shoes" approach of bands from both coasts, nor an Earth-hugging "we need to get back to nature" hippie copout. There might not be any answers here. That might be the point. Nots have arrived at the next level of their attack with a confidence and a music that lays waste to the wasteland without romantic attachment to a thing.
