High Tide is a collective of great friends, seasoned promoters and we like to think accomplished DJs!  We have regularly performed alongside our peers including the likes of Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Groove Armada, Jamie Jones, Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Hot Since 82, Steve Lawler, Skream, Annie Mac, Kolsch, Pete Tong and Dubfire to name but a few as well as locally based pals James Zabiela and Alan Fitzpatrick.  We’ve put on some cracking parties too, our most infamous being the High Tide Boat Parties from Southampton in the UK.

With an endearing love for electronic music and some positive traction from the producers within our ranks it has been a long time coming for High Tide Recordings.  We don’t give a flying f#*k about making money (lets hope we don’t lose too much though ☺), but if we get to release great underground dance music, educate ourselves in the process and have fun along the way we’ll be more than happy.

Collective States formed when two likeminded individuals crossed paths just as the club scene reached its first stratospheric peak and forged a union that has spanned the decades and seen them develop into a formidable chart-topping duo.
 
Their unmistakable melodic groove is the type that joyously infects your bones, it seeps in via an acid house influence accompanied by a bass that makes your blood bubble and there’s no escaping where their beats intend to lead you. The combined experience of two individually talented producers and performers is something most artistes can only aspire to and that enviable luxury has planted them in a position to create music that top labels can’t wait to get their hands on.
 
Collective States has featured on the world-renowned Knee Deep In Sound, Toolroom Records, Skint Records, We Are The Brave, Born Electric, 43 Degrees Records, HORIZN, Kenya Records and Perspectives Digital to name just a snap shot of imprints that have welcomed them with open arms. They are also regulars on Oliver Koletzki’s label ‘Stil vor Talent’, where they’ve racked up over 3 million combined streams of their knockout release ‘Kamino’ - the numbers only cement them as a failsafe production house that cannot be ignored. 
 
A quick scan of playlists from the industry’s biggest tastemakers—John Digweed, Hot Since 82, Joris Voorn, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, and James Zabiela—confirms that Collective States’ productions are a staple in the sets of dance music’s elite. Few producers can rely on consistent support from the scene’s most influential figures, but for Collective States, it’s a given.
 
When it comes to remix duties they have had some of the biggest names come knocking. The heavyweight Dancefloor commanders such as Róisín Murphy, Carl Cox and Christopher Coe have handed over the parts to their iconic tracks and trusted Collective States to reshape and redeliver something uniquely electrifying. 
 
Beyond the studio, they are commanding dance floors across the globe, orchestrating the journey of their own label High Tide Recordings or masterminding Hide Tide club nights which will continue to go down in the history books as one of the longest running, most loyally supported nights on the south coast.
 
Collective States is a union that transcends; a harmonious creative powerhouse which uses their force and focus to determine their own reality - the ride is far from over.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010. As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England. The electronic music scene is a highly competitive one. Nowadays, artists need to be more prepared than ever, especially before jumping head-first into the race for stardom. And there are few breakthrough talents as solid as Aitor Astiz.

This young musician has been living and breathing music since childhood. Going from playing and studying violin, to self-teaching himself how to play drums. Step by step, his musical taste evolved until he found dance music. And after getting his first decks, it was just a matter of time for his interest in production to take over.

As a producer and musician, is how Aitor has really set himself apart from the rest. After a break, where he evolved his sound approaching more tech house and minimal deep tech vibes, he has found his place in the scene and has positioned himself as a notorious international breakthrough talent.

In the studio is where Aitor frees himself and is capable of creating hits that are going viral, with the support of internationally acclaimed artists as The Martinez Brothers, Michael Bibi, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Wade, Paco Osuna, Pawsa, Cloonee or Dennis Cruz.

His tracks are a fusion of various musical influences, intense, dance floor-driven and energetic. His use of samples is his staple signature, as well as basses and glitches that give his sound personality. All this, topped with how he texturizes and gives life to his music, makes Aitor Astiz one of the young producers with most projection at all levels in the dance music scene.
