A progression I've been improvising around for a few days. My wife said it reminded her of the rain that was falling outside while I played this. The piano is NI Noire, which has become my go to piano these days.

This is the first ever piece of piano music that i created. It's at least 30 yrs old. ( the song not the recording) :) Anyway it was my mothers fave piece of music of mine so i named it Mothers Theme.

Sitting by the window, looking out at the rain, following a train of thought while having a cup of tea … serenity meets the sweet melancholy of a just-finished book, a deep sigh, the feeling of longing for a non-existent place … here’s the soundtrack to my current state of mind.


A collection of memories, favorite places, and forgotten tales wrapped in ambient soundscapes and minimalistic piano music. 

Sometimes there’s no need for words. You can let the wind whisper, the water roar, the birds talk, and the streets of Berlin tell their stories … while you play along on the piano, capturing all of those little moments.

Now is the time to start sharing what I have been working on last spring. It was hectic period for me and a frightening time with the pandemic going about. My single Outposts was written early March 2020, just when the pandemic started to spread globally. Seeing the society change so drastically made me want to express the direness of the situation and the lonelyness some of us feel while beeing isolated. It is like we are all situated in outposts battling the virus. I am really glad to share this personal music with you, and I am excitited cause there's a lot more to come. 

A multitude of thanks to Simon Bäckström, aka We Hate Simon, for filming and producing this music video as well as mastering the track.

Staring out my window today, a gloomy day and it's getting dark earlier and earlier. No sun to pick up the spirit to let me pretend that everything is going to be okay. Tomorrow I will wake up and everything will go back to normal as if that normal was okay - because it wasn't. If I didn't have my music to make me feel whole I couldn't stand it. Standing is getting harder before I have to lay down. It's going to be a very long winter.

Mother

I improvised this track using the Audio Recorder feature of the Casio PX-560M Stage Piano, recording it to a thumb drive. I played the song back from the Casio into an SSL2+ audio interface into Steinberg Cubase for further processing and mixing.
