Bassline Seeking Companion (Pythagora's Theoremerizing Version)

this weeks project provided a massive dilemna for me, there were so many amazing sounds and astounding tales last week that I had really hard time trying to choose.

I ended up with the first 20 seconds of 337is'  "National Tennis Centre, Melbourne, Australia, 1989"  and the whole of (I'm sorry I know I was supposed to use only part of) Hideyuki Kuromiya's
"Incidental G"  both beautiful in their own right, looped them, and added the last ingredient (as prescribed by my physician or doctorb Marc) to glue them together, a couple of samples from the movie Serpico (it's a slow burn but well worth the watch). Thanks  to 337is and Hideyuki for you lovely sounds and sorry to all the other people I didn't use, whose sounds were equally as lovely.

I did nothing to any of the tracks except for a little delay on the very last Serpico sample and a fade out on 337is part.

concealing the raggedness of material division.

Pulling, pushing and the trembling electrical spasm of compression,
screaming and sleeping all day and all night.
Curiously excited septuplets,
blind septuplets.
At the very least they are incorrigible,
happy and entertained.

Blameless and nameless, how it once was.
Naive perfectness, involution as love,
only hopefulness, evolving as love.

Then, seven new forms' thin veil is cellular;
corporeal threading spun by need,
concealing the bounteousness of the essence.

The hopelessness of an insular heart,
becomes wan, incessant hunger
of bodies adrift in the flood

Collision, abrasion and the pyrrhic expulsion of scorched dust.
Unending feeling through the clean path of memory.
Confused by the not knowing.
Questioning in movement.
As glowing slow ridges extend
to dependable belief

Exhaustless and pilotless, how it must be.

Mr William Klangwander's Reach [TRAMPELFÂD radio]

This is the text element of an installation created last year for The Cad Factory's On Common Ground. The intention was to research matters related to the Narrandera Common and surrounding area and make a text specific to that place and its stories. A kind of psychogeographical map making exercise in  interconnectedness. Initially I thought it would be a series of lists of words, but I found I was unable to (or did not want to) extract my emotive reaction from what I encountered in the research and the project turned into something else. When I had finished writing I discovered I had a very strong compulsion to speak the words aloud at the installation site. It seemed to me that the work would be incomplete unless this happened. After responding to the land, looking for a language of land, I felt there needed to be a cyclic resolution, and that meant I had to return the words to their source location. I knew this would mean a pouring out of sound, taking the text out of my head, out of its existence as silent ink marks on paper, and into the space as vibrations and echoes.

The seemingly limitless manifestations that are observed during improvisational performance of electronic audiovisual materials drive me to seek collaborative interactions between compositional systems, machines, and myself. In holding space to facilitate an emergence of indeterminate phenomenon through analog synthesis, feedback systems, and field recordings, I share elements from multiple sources to celebrate shapes, patterns, and spaces.

I hold BAs in Art and English from Andrews University, and am currently enrolled in the Electronic Integrated Arts MFA at Alfred University. I was an artist in residency in 2017 at Signal Culture in Owego New York and in 2015 at Sachaqa Centro De ARTE, San Roque Peru. My visual works, and live electronic improvisational performances, have been featured across Peru, at The MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, and throughout the Midwest of America.
 
Note: Much of the work here is subtle in nature and I encourage you to listen via headphones or using a decent system whenever possible. Most computer speakers will not reveal the tracks fully.
