Deep hypnotic atmospheric Techno  spring II/ summer 2020

The smell of flowers and trees in full Spring glory is nearly here. May has finally begun, and if you are as excited as we are to feel a new season in the electronic music world, a spring-inspired swirl of exciting new albums, releases, and remixes are just what we need.

We selected ten favorite tracks of the month featuring two extensive charity compilations from Enisslab Studio Records and Konstrukt supporting the fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic; also included are impeccable new albums from Italian artist Andrea on Ilian Tape, Russian via Berlin producer Soela on Dial Records, Giegling affiliate Vril on Delsin Records, British producer K-LONE on Wisdom Teeth Records; John Talabot giving facelifts to Darkstar's new single "Wolf" on Warp, the legendary Aphex Twin who quietly uploaded six new tracks on his not-to-secret Soundcloud page for free download, Dorisburg and Efraim Kent who reunited on the fledgling imprint Kontrolleri, and Feral’s marvelous return to Hypnus records.

In light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic Studio Enisslab headed up by Italian DJ / Producer and Live Act Neel has announced the release of a very special 56 track charity compilation project, fundraising for The Red Cross, who are working extremely hard alongside health services internationally that are feeling the effects of the corona-virus outbreak the most right now. The compilation is available for a limited time via Bandcamp and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Red Cross to help the world’s most affected countries in the Covid-19 pandemic.

This special release features over 6 hours of previously unreleased and unheard material, where an all star cast of artists were encouraged to share music that reflects this time we are living in.

Neel, who is one half of live duo Voices From The Lake, and LF58 speaks out on behalf of the initiative, organised in collaboration with improvised live project Circle Of Live, and visual art collective Sbagliato. He explains:

“In this situation we all need to look after each other and this project is a start. I wanted to reach as many people as possible to spread this message, so I started to share the idea personally with lots of artists and the response was amazing. I wanted them to take their time with whichever tools they had available at home to produce some music that reflects this time we are living in, a contribution for this special project and to portray a special message.”

The project’s cover art image brought to you by visual art collective Sbagliato shows pictures of windows of houses and studios taken by the artists themselves: 56 musicians, 56 windows, 56 tracks shape a new place of sharing.

Revelation Of Sound is pleased to present Mary Yuzovskaya. By way of NYC, Berlin and before that Moscow, vinyl only techno DJ, producer and record label owner Mary Yuzovskaya has been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 13 years.

Having graced the decks of all Moscow’s hotspots back in the mid-2000s, Mary moved to Berlin, where she quickly became recognised for both her blisteringly-precise vinyl-only techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft of DJing. Based in New York City since 2013, Mary currently holds a residency at Public Records and solely runs her very own record label called Monday Off, launched in 2017, where she curates and presses work from artists that explore techno's trippier, more hypnotic side. After relocating to the US, Mary quickly became a key figure in its scene, performing regularly at different venues including multiple residencies at some of the city’s institutional parties like Unter, where she was a staple for three years, as well as working as a vinyl distribution manager at renowned Brooklyn-based record shop Halcyon.

Mary has been fortunate enough to share the decks with many talented and internationally recognised musicians such as Blazej Malinowski, Claudio PRC, Dino Sabatini, Edit Select, Ness, Xhin, and many others. She has been busily traveling the world and performing her unique take on techno music’s deeper vibes at many noted clubs and parties across the world, including ://about blank, Basement, Compound (LA), Distillery (Leipzig), OHM, Output (Brooklyn), Propaganda (Moscow), and Tresor, to name only a few.
