Never Stop Dancing is a mix series dedicated to all those who find themselves locked in the groove, time and time again. To those who find themselves eyes closed, lost in the music. To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Never Stop Dancing 12 is a playful mix by none other than Kootenay veteran, mother, and all around wonderful human, Lady V. Lady V has been a staple of the Kootenay underground scene for many years. Her signature chugging yet driving sound consistently captivates dancers, locking them in a deep, bouncy, hypnotic groove for hours on end. Many moons ago, I stumbled across Lady V playing a set at my favourite stage in the Kootenays, and thought to myself, “this is it – this is the place.” Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Lady V, and have grown an appreciation for her humility, kindness, and passion for her tasteful, slow-house sonic journeys. Her selections always transport me back to the blissed out mornings at the open airs in Köln. Her Never Stop Dancing mix is a seamless, groove-laden journey that’ll have you wanting more. Enjoy!

This mix is the sound of spring and the changes it brings. Holding onto the highs, the trebles, the tweaks and the whimsy. In a world that seems intent on getting smaller I cherish the flavours and colours from far and wide. As our spring rains fall they draw me outwards to a place of light and hope. Still holding on to the steady rhythms of the deep months that are almost behind us, those deeper tech beats that I’m always drawn to still remain. Memories drawn from old tracks made new .. Leonard, Lhasa, dub tempos, those 303 acid sounds that still roll around in my brain. Slower rhythms, gorgeous vocals, ups & downs and with them an awakening to the promise of all that lies ahead. Describing this moment to a stranger is impossible!
There we all were at our favourite festival, with our favourite people, at our favourite time of the day, at our favourite stage with my favourite partners in crime. On my birthday!

Sunday Morning 8 -12 was the most ideal time for our set. As we started playing the sun was hovering over the trees into the lake creating a yummy warmth that would last the whole day. In fact we got so hot by the end that we had throw Paule into the lake to cool down (and it was my birthday wish).

Our musical journey started with some slow 90 - 100 bpm Wavy Downtempo to get all the morning stretching and catching up with all the crew from a big Saturday night, there was so much creation and sparkly goodness in the air. After a few hours our partner Geo Seato joined us  and added his deep and hypnotic flute to the sounds. It was magical.
Mid set we started getting gruntier and chucked in some deep grooves with heavier baselines. Was a perfect match to the crowd's needs to keep bopping. 
In the end from a slow moving crowd we managed to bump the tempos up to 110 bpm and that resulted in a roaring crowd that was ready for the Sunday magic and Cheep Frills coming in suuuuper hot after us with their first Live set together. It could not have been more perfect!!

The only sad thing was that Geo's flute did not make it in the recording. But not to worry it was insane!!

The beauty of this moment was unprecedented for us. It will be hard to replicate.
Thank you Shipwrecked Festival for this incredible booking and for catering for such a unique and special crowd all the way through till the end. 
We are so lucky to be part of such a loving community of creators that year after year come and showcase their gift to rave. It is special!

See you all in 2026 for our 10 year anniversary!!

This is a  practise mix I did last summer for Revel Fest in Hedley, BC. It's a journey of tunes that I wanted to explore for an early evening time slot. My plan was to build a soundscape that would allow for the party peeps to make food, get ready for the night and bring a proper summer vibe against the backdrop of the beautiful Similkameen valley. Lots of horns, fun folktronica, vocals .. intentional and sweet ♡
