Unsub & n0isemakeR's latest release dives into the vault for a trip from Dub, Drumtek and DnB. Hot off the back of their 6 track EP "La Bruja" with its unrelenting dark rhythms, the emotionally charged music has quickly become a tradition for the duo who take it even further afield into new realms of exploration.

Rare Candy vol 2 is a journey of emotional highs; from staunchly aggressive "The Hardest Flame", to the deeply pensive tones of "Crestfallen", all the way through to the noir inspired Dubstep beast "Hard Candy". Rounding out the release with a neuro infused stomper in "Blenheim".

Volume 2 is the second in the series of multi-genre artist explorations known as Rare Candy.

Microfunk Music welcome lauded and prolific sound weaver Nuage to the label with three soul-soothing cuts of microfunk / 2-step garage fusion. The upcoming EP, consisting of three distinct and emotive compositions entitled "Flashback," "Feedback," and "Throwback," showcases Nuage's ability to create immersive auditory experiences that seamlessly blend body and mind movement.

Throughout this musical tapestry, every element finds its rightful place.… flickering vocal chops dance around the cranium, intertwined with perfectly crafted 2-step breaks. The warm chord progressions coupled with rumbling reese basses lure the listener into a sonic world that they will never want to leave.

Nuage's intricate production skills come to the forefront here. With his unique blend of microfunk and 2-step garage, Nuage unveils an enchanting landscape that captivates the senses and resonates deeply.

Nuage - Throwback

Apeth is all about deep, dark, and technical drum and bass. A proper bass fiend and regular on the doof circuit, he's always digging for fresh sounds and exploring the heavier, more intricate corners of the genre. His sets are unpredictable but intentional - think minimal techy grooves, psychedelic rollers, and heavy low-end pressure.

Now based in Mulubinba, he's been getting amongst it with crews like Newy Bass Crew, Lowfreq and Resurrect, while still holding it down on the Gold Coast as a co-runner of Shadow Bass - a monthly gathering that keeps it raw, underground, and focused on quality drum and bass with zero fluff. It's a space for both up-and-comers and seasoned heads to throw down and connect.

Apeth's played everything from doofs like Fungal Forest to club nights like PSYDEN, Sub Culture, Trigga Fingaz, and a UK slot with WOBZ. 

Apeth's mix roll through the many sinister flavours he's known for conjuring up. Expect tight mixing, deep cuts, and a proper journey through the heavier side of drum and bass.

Had an unreal weekend at Art Valley. It was bloody freezing, but the fire, the people, and the energy made it so worth it. So many good yarns with good humans. ❄️🔥

This set was a bit of a departure from my usual thing - this is more daytime vibes, which I don’t often get the chance to play, and a sound that leans into the roots of what made me fall in love with drum and bass. Nostalgic and uplifting, with a few classics woven in. It was refreshing to shift gears.

Singr - Time & Space (Soul In Motion Records) Premiere

From Tarndanya (Adelaide, South Australia), Bennie has spent the better part of the last 25 years digging deep into the sounds that move him - from jungle, dubstep and drum and bass to more soulful, downtempo selections. His mixes are often described as deep, hypnotic and warm - equally suited to heavy sound systems, late-night gatherings, or quiet moments of introspection.

His connection to music started early. After studying music at high school and playing in concert bands both here and in Japan during an exchange, Bennie stumbled upon jungle and drum and bass thanks to mixes his sister brought back from overseas. Back in the '90s, she also introduced him to the Cargo crew - a club known for blending jazz, funk, beats, and spoken word, all tied together by a love for good soul music.

Being part of the Rumble crew at Cargo - a monthly night that brought in fresh interstate and international drum and bass DJs - Bennie got to dive deeper into the scene. Time in Japan with the Delete crew expanded his musical horizons even further. When dubstep was just starting to take shape in 2001, he was there mixing sets and later worked alongside FTDF and Redline Dubstars from around 2007 to 2013, helping grow that movement.

Over 25 years of making music, Bennie's passion has stretched beyond just DJing - into production and visual arts - always pushing to explore new creative paths. Even through lockdown, he kept the music flowing, streaming with the Transmitting Live crew and pitching in at events whenever possible. Recently, he's been involved in collaborations at Ancient World alongside Wickid Lickwid and the Deeptank crew.

He's featured on radio also, making appearances on The Ones & Twos, Rollerz, The BassBin, and more.

This mix, made exclusively for Newy Bass Crew, is a snapshot from his wide-ranging collection - tracks that have stuck with him and that he's been drawn to over the years.

A devoted pillar of Eora's (Sydney AU) underground, now stepping into the booth with the same passion he's brought to the dancefloor for years. A lifelong raver and bass music devotee, he channels the fight against a degenerative disease into sets loaded with drive, grit, and pure low-end pressure.

A beloved supporter of Eora's underground, his presence behind the decks is an extension of years spent immersed in the scene. This year marked his first international support, opening for Leo Cap at the Low End Focus launch. In previous years, he's featured at events hosted by Newy Bass Crew and Cabin Fever Crew, steadily building his place in the underground circuit.

He's also given his time and skills to charity events, showing the same commitment to community offstage as he does behind the decks.

From intimate house parties to heavy-hitting stages, his selections are rooted in deep knowledge, lived experience, and a love for the culture that runs far beyond the music itself.
