Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. An emotional martian lol

Q. How long have you been a part of the NY music scene?
A. About 7 years now... time flies...

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. I wanted to make something different this time around and put together a mix that covers different shades of house and is still high energy :) There's 22 tracks in it for the year 2022 lol. I've been trying to focus more on channelling and being immersed in joy this year and I think this mix captures that vibe.

“Wanted to channel the spirit of pumping 90s dj energy. In honor of playing with Claude Young I wanted the set to be raw, full of risks, going with the progression of energy in the room. Riding the ebb and flow of mixes. Going with the progression of energy in the room; focused on telling a story throughout the set. Id describe it as fun, erotic, hypnotic, sexy, chunked and funky. One of my favorite things about the mix was including records i got the day of and 6 years ago.”

Somersault 194 (Devoye) “Nowadays Set”

In both her productions and DJ sets, Ariel Zetina keeps the vibes high and spirits soaring as she takes listeners on a journey through genres, eras and tempos. 

Her Crack Mix doesn’t stray from this expectation as Zetina lays down peak-time heat from the likes of Nikki Nair, TAAHLIAH and Leonce. “This is a high BPM mix,” she says. “Techno for people who can't get into techno. A smattering of acid, some Chicago shit and some Belizean shit – plus some other surprises. This was such a fun mix to do and I hope everyone feels the energy!”

At Unsound 2022, Bored Lord from LA and Ariel Zetina from Chicago - each other's biggest fans - teamed up for their first-ever European b2b set. The two artists masterfully fused together queer club sounds with '90s hardcore breaks, trance, and house, resulting in a hard-hitting combo that kept the audience on their toes throughout. Once again we hit the record button, and the ripping result is Unsound Podcast 89!
