As is tradition, the Darksiders have once again bestowed a spooky Halloween playlist for the music community. For this year's theme everyone got to pick a ghost story of their choosing. 
    Since I am originally from New Orleans, I chose the famous local legend of Delphine LaLaurie. She was a wealthy aristocrat during the early 1800s. During an investigation into a fire at her residence, it was discovered that she was gruesomely killing and torturing her slaves. If you look into the story in depth the nature of her crimes were twisted as fuck. To this day the LaLaurie Mansion still stands at the corner of Royal and Gov. Nicholls in the French Quarter.
   As a side note, a fun fact of the LaLaurie mansion is that it was briefly owned by the actor Nicolas Cage. It has since changed owners several times due to the haunted nature of the property.

The new release "Portal del Sur" consists of four tracks created during the Art Lab Artistic Residencies x Amplify DAI.

The music is inspired by nature and based on deep listening of environments free from noise pollution and urban environments. With improvisation as the method of composition and the use of samples and field recordings mixed with analog and digital instruments, a selection of sounds, pulsations, strangeness, phase shifts and harmonies prevail through the exploration of electronic genres such as techno, break, ambient and electroacoustic.

"I sample sounds of the places I inhabit and mix them with analog and digital instruments, processes, voices and words that resonate with me, transforming them into ethereal sound atmospheres over natural pulses, and artificial rhythms coupled with counterpoints of improvised harmonies"

Not your everyday techno -  this experimental  delivers sonic fluxes  that are simply out of the galaxy.. Synths phasing, hitting the right notes from analogue patching wires everywhere.
Bend a few circuits, throw in more patches  and ...
Pulsating, rising, falling, phasing...then the pounding of some alien-like mallets or percussive patch. 

You need to know how to make it sound right. so its music and not a noise 
Maybe  pass it through the mangler as well to really  bring out that pounding.. 
This could be a union between  Dr WHO and  The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy-   techno style!
