i've been DJing forever as Big G, SUNZ OF AXIS and Sub Erb+Kaos.... I was a box boy and DJ for the Mighty Axis Sound System , I lifted heaps of giant speaker boxes  and learned about Dub, Reggae and Dancehall...thank you Paul Axis, Mikey DON and Natty B you all helped me become a most powerful Jedi ..... ;] 
In the late 90's I owned my own record shop - Proper Records,  big up Joss Jinx,( https://soundcloud.com/jinxindub ),Matt Proper, Bladey and Bones - could not have done it without these guys) 
We also had 3 labels "Birth" "HomeGrown" and "Proper", (Django made the tunes (https://soundcloud.com/oniidub) and Bent Coppa helped run tingz...........https://soundcloud.com/bentcoppa

We also ran a few decent nights and many "big names" started out on our stage... 

New Zealand has been my home for 20 years now ..... 

i'm still playing tunes....
but doing it in the sun is heaps more fun.

Dreadsquad - Poland's staple Reggae Dancehall export


The Dreadsquad project has put Poland on the map for creating dancefloor friendly riddim and bassline madness. From the Superfly Studio in Lodz comes tune after tune combining Jamaican sounds of of Reggae, Dub, Dancehall, Ska and Rocksteady with the modern sounds of Breakbeat, Jungle, Dubstep and Garage.


Dreadsquad was launched during 2001 and what followed was a flurry of mashups, remixes and Polish Sound Clash victories which gave confidence to turn a passion into a way of life for the man at the controls, Marek Bogdanski. Hundreds of gigs in Poland turned into European tours and now Dreadsquad has toured as far as the USA, Canada, Brazil & India.


Always in demand, Dreadsquad has worked with plenty of top Jamaican and European artists including Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Milion Stylez, Lady Chann, Tipa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect Giddimani, Dr Ring Ding…the list goes on.


So far Dreadsquad has released 4 mixtapes, 4 full-length producer albums and a host of vinyl and digital singles which made it into the top of the best DJ shops in Europe and into the playlists of the premier DJs of the world.

The Dreadsquad sound is a worldwide sound taking influence and inspiration from all walks of life. It is glued together by Jamaican Soundsystem culture and modern Bass music culture and is a force to be reckoned with.

What is the Ashan Project? 

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, was an ancient, evolving civilisation. They were among the first group of self aware inteligent life to evolve after the so called big bang. This was the civilisation of Ashan. Their role in the universe at the time was to master the potential of creativity, art and music. They have since evolved over billions of years into a higher sentient force and now govern the fundamentals behind creativity, art and music. A true free thinking entity. Their role now is to subconciously nurture the creative minds of growing infant civilisations in order to encourage free thinking! 

This earth is living in critical times and there are systems in place to stop our intelligent lives from reaching our full potential. The only real free parts of our mind we have left in western society is the mind state behind creativity, art and music, and it’s through this that we can make a real difference!

We are here on behalf of the Ashan civilisation to try and promote the use of electronic music, art and video installations in an effort to bring people toghether, to have fun, to dance, to be inspired and to try and make that difference to the way people interact and comunicate for a positive outcome. 

Using audio and visual techniques aimed at putting us in a collective mindstate, to release a joint spark of collective energy into the earth in the hope that it helps towards positive mentality in these changing times...

Who are The Ashan Project?

Formed in 2007, the project consists of 2 members each bringing there own unique influences to the table to create a stunning, high energy audio performance. Specialising in a tuff, hard edged psy-trance sound with techno elements, sets can often be described as: inteligent, creative, driving, dark, twisted and very uplifting whilst not being too serious, appealing to the underground and with an effort to being accessible to overground dancfloors too. Also covering minimal techno, progressive, tech-house and electronica. As performers, expect high energy, unique and tight mixing styles, intense crowd interaction and creative stage surprises. Ashan Project have become well established within the northern underground scene and with over 75 professional gigs accross the UK, rocking clubs and venues as well as headlining some of the countrys freshest and up coming festivals, The Ashan Project are set and are on their way to becoming one of the most inovative DJ audio acts in the UK. Holding residencies at long time lancaster based events - Solar. and The mighty 11years running Leeds based events- Riff Raff.. Also signed to Elemental magik and their artist agency. 


Recently Wakeem has remixed "Charlie Watt" by the Samba band Drum Machine. http://www.drummachine.org.uk/#grooves. With releases available on , Juno http://www.junodownload.com/products/drum-machine-charlie-watt/2849843-02/ , Track it Down, iTunes and many more.
Wakeem has also been producing with Stu Angus as C.L.U. dj's. Wakeem and Stu have been mixing up a blend of tech house and minimal at events such as "Solfest" in Cumbria, "Riff Raff", "Beaverfest" Leeds, and the "Festival Project" based in Lancaster U.K.
C.L.U. have had their first release - "Dark Matter", which is a massive colaboration with new up and coming producer and dj "Duhkula"on 50/50 records available on Beatport.

Essentilally, Wakeem is DJ, producer, remixer and sound engineer, capable of using a variety of mediums for dj performance, such as vinyl, cd, Ableton live, Soratto and the more recently accuired skills in N.I. TraKtor and has the full ability using production software, Cubase, Reason, Ableton, Pro tools to name but a few.

Recently Wakeem appeared as the duo C.L.U. dj's at the return of "Sin:Ergy" in Manchester and is also now the resident DJ for the "Festival Project" as well as in the back room of "Riff" Raff a bi-monthly night in Leeds, with "Solar" residents the Ashan Project - hard dance and techno rebels. Formerly a well established resident with the "Solar" parties, Wakeem has been a prolific Dj around his home town of Lancaster, playing regularly at nites such as, "Tech House Sessions",  "Electroshox", "Acme Bass", "Solar", "Cheeky Business", "Proper Records". Wakeem moved into the digital world of djing, performing on both CD's and laptop from the now popular "Ableton", whilst performing at a string of free parties and venue based events.

It was after a return from gigs in Spain, the name Wakeem Coderro came about, using a Lancashire accent in the spanish translation of his birth name. Wakeem first met the Solar crew whilst frequently playing nights, events and free parties for the Lancaster based "Proper Records", spinning dubbed up tech house and techno under the guise of "Jay Ball", playing alongside Big G, Bent Copper, Joss Jinx, Jinx in Dub, Shut Up and Dance, The Ragga Twins.

Whilst playing at Proper Records nights Wakeem visited Spain on several occasions to play at the renowned "Voodoo Moon" nights, with fellow Pleasure Rooms resident Neil Thorogood (now based in Australia), where they performed their legendary 8hour sets together until daylight the next  was at the Pleasure Rooms in Leeds that the partnership with Neil Thorogood really came together heavily influencing each others styles and skills, proving to be a formidable team, playing alongside numerous top names, such as, Judge Jules, Sonique and Alistair Whitehead.

Prior to teaming up with Neil, Wakeem played an active part in the North West Lancs underground scene, playing for and alongside the "Mayhem" crew from Bradford at their monthly nights at Planet Venus, the legendary "1 in 12" Bradford, "Dogruff" Inverness, "The Electric Green" in Kendal, "Citrus Club" and "Dance Your Sox Off" at Lancaster Suger House as duo "The Bully Brothers, "The Source Club" north west raves, "Eco Systems" Scottish partys, "Ignite" Bentham Town Hall "Fieldtrip", "Palgowan Festival" with "Acme Bass", "Stylus" of Lancaster, and of course the in-famous "Zicada" parties including the infamous "Milenium Bash" at Bentham Town Hall. It was during the "Zicada" days as a prolific minion where Wakeem really truely learn't and developed his craft and artform, whilst assisting in the lavish productions of their many legendary events.

Long time vibe merchant. 
I first got into dance music in 1987 after hearing it played in a club I worked in at the time. In 1988 I learnt how to mix, and then started playing for pirate radio stations & at illegal raves up & down the UK. I played for sound systems such as Ruff Crew, Spiral Tribe, Circus Warp, P.O.D. At outdoor raves such as Cassington, The Devils Punchbowl, Castlemorten & Chobham Common. 
1996 - Moved to London and helped start a record shop called Vinyl Addiction in Camden. I then managed another shop, also in Camden.
From The Dogstar to Fabric..from Sancho Panza at the Nottinghill Carnival to a bomb shelter in Russia. I've been lucky enough to play for some great sound-systems, travel to some amazing places, and I've met some great people.
